@Victor-Meldrew shows the tech, smarts and willingness is there - they say from scratch but surely they'll have access to plans - even if it's the stuff others have shared online already which was pissing off those medical companies! Even though stuff like this is awesome I can't help but get a bit cynical about the self promotion bit.
I'm fine with no anonymous giving when it comes to this stuff. If companies and/or people are pulling out all the stops to get shit done then they deserve the accolades and the benefits to their brand that come with that

Brilliant. I'm not sure about why the cops make the lock down dodgers do PT, but if they didn't know better before they know now

@Victor-Meldrew now that's the good stuff! Opening up the patents and sharing facilities.
-
@No-Quarter totally fine with them sharing what they are helping with, just find the (inevitable?) humble brag/marketing bit a tad meh. Well aware that's molehills vs mountains in terms of the overall positive impact of this cross-business cooperation.

Tourism, hospitality and travel now extends to retail, with a large Group standing down workers and stating it will cease rental payments.

This website tracks European weekly mortality rates:
-
China had another 67 today, 6 more dead, yesterday they had 47 and 4.
Over half of the worldwide deaths are in Italy and Spain

Judging by the nz reaction to people being out and about, the situation in the 23k rural popn Aus town I'm in would have you in conniptions!
90% shops open. Lots of people congregating. No enforcement of entering supermarkets, car parks full. A lot quieter but pretty much business as usual.
Now, I can't judge because I don't know shit and time will tell. It might be fine, I don't know.
But an analogy I've been thinking is one of facing the old Windies bowling attack. Poms and kiwis are kitted out in helmets, pads, chest and arm guards while the Aussies ( here at least) are wearing only gloves and a box. Who will get the best results remains to be seen.
A stark contrast in approaches, it would seem.

I'm having bad luck with TP. Needed toothpaste this morning so shot over to the Woolies metro near my place - lots of people wandering out with TP, I get in there to see the last 24 pack get taken.
Then had to buy a hard drive for work so went to the local JB hifi and then shot down to the Coles to see people wandering round with 18 packs of three ply ... get to the cage and they're all gone.

That sucks. No rationing in oz clearly?

@Nepia I haven't seen TP on shelves for three weeks. Perhaps I should stoop, shuffle and wander in at opening hours with everyone else.
Me either, but this is maybe the 3rd day I've seen people with TP. I saw a guy enter a Coles one day with a 24 pack ... I assume he got somewhere else. The dairy's seem to have overpriced stock (TBF that's probably their normal prices).
@canefan There's a one or two limit on most of the products that go quickly. Apparently the logistics aren't there to have more constant deliveries but I think TPs coming in the morning and afternoon and gets snapped up immediately. Frozen veggies is random, there was barely any stock today but my last shop they were at normal levels.

Where are you at the moment? I'm on the far NSW South Coast, and things are pretty calm here. Not many out and about. I think people are taking it seriously, even if the closest case is about 100km away...

about 100km away
to be fair, in this country that is just around the corner

I'm assuming the closest case to me is probably less than 3km away (as that's the nearest hospital it wouldn't be over 3km).

And from the alternative universe that is Japan, the Foreign Ministry yesterday urged citizens to refrain from unnecessary overseas trips.
