People piss me off. Have done ever since I can remember. I was a grumpy old man as a toddler. Want to play with my toys? Fuck off and bring your own. I am not having you scratch my matchbox cars.
I think it's safe to say I am not a people person.
Picked the right job then.
At least my faith in people hasn't been shattered by the job - I had no faith to begin with 😀

True. I’m a member of a guitar/bass page on FB and every single week there’s some crybaby whinging that he/she put money into someone’s account for a guitar/amp/pedal or whatever and now that persons account has vanished, they’re not responding and the goods are nowhere to be seen.
Newsflash dipshit. There are scammers everywhere and some of them appear quite genuine. What’s even more amusing is how they’re shocked and butthurt that the police aren’t launching full scale investigations to reclaim their money.

Yeah. I have had a few mates who did your job over the years. They would have been better off not being "illusioned" in the first place like you, than the disillusioned guys they became.

True. I think my personality prior to joining has actually helped me cope with things. I have seen more than a few cops badly affected by the job as they realise what people can be like. You can't afford to care too much otherwise you will get eaten up by it. Do what you have to do to cover your arse and move on. Sounds harsh, but it is an effective way of surviving the job and keeping a resemblance of sanity.

@Crazy-Horse Yep job burnt me out pretty quick, I am far to empathetic, so my bucket got full pretty quick. After 10 years I could no longer read, see, or deal with things I had no trouble dealing with in the beginning. I had to leave, but I have nothing but respect for those that do it year after year. Thank you.

You guys did better than I managed. Shift work for comms was enough for me. I had every intention of going fully sworn, I got very far down the recruitment process but decided not to go any further. I even started running a bit !
But yeah, thanks for getting in there and doing the work fellas, good shit.

The dad of my son's mate is a Scot. Great bloke. Is an engineer now but always wanted to be a cop. He lasted one year on the force. In that time he was stabbed with a syringe, slashed with a knife and shot at. He also had to collect body parts and locate the head of a guy who jumped in front of a train. That was all before he turned 19. Screw that.

When you let someone into traffic in front of you and they don't give you a wave. How fucken hard is it to raise your arm you lazy fluffybunny!
Totally agree but would add fluffybunnies who queue across the intersection so you can't get out. Happens to me every morning. Took me 8 minutes just to join the queue today.
Also piston wristed gibbons who speed down the T3 and then expect to be able to swerve in to join said queue when they spot the enforcement camera. Not fucking likely matey. Enjoy the $200 fine fluffybunny.

Parents who give their kids stupid fucken names. I met a bloke whose surname was Floyd, yep his parents give him the first name Floyd. What's your name mate? Floyd Floyd.
Imagine the thousand phone conversations when he is giving first and last name and the person on the other end says "Yeah I got that, what's your last name"
