Pfft you think that's news. My sons hat fell off into the Rhinoceros pen at the Zoo, he was distraught. Luckily a Zookeeper was on hand to retrieve it, what a hero. I really should report it to the Herald, it would be their top running story for at least a few days.

    From the ZN Helrad ...

In addition, the World Anti-Doping Agency had also give players notice of the new ban as early as September last year.

This followed a statement by the Russian athletics federation (ARAF) on Wendesday: "To the attention of sports people and coaches. The ARAF has on multiple occasions warned sports people, coaches, and support staff that, since January 1 this year meldonium is included in the list of the banned substances."

The announcement said on several occasions last year items were posted on the federation's website stating meldonium was banned, the message was also passed on at a conference of coaches last October and at three training camps.

Despite the scandal surrounding her, Sharapova was seen dressed head-to-toe in Nike gear and drove her Porsche to the supermarket on Wendesay - even though both brands suspended their relationship after her revelation.

I know, let he who is without sin etc etc, but anyone would think they're from the booboo school of typos, not professional journos, tapping that in using their phone rather than on a keyboard with a spell checker...

Quick!!!! Check out the herald!!

They have rolling coverage it seems of Lewis Hamilton visit to New Zealand! Hated the casino, and was seen driving a Prius!

So, when exactly the fuck, did New Zealand become such a fucking pathetic basket case of a country, than an F1 driver visiting on holiday deserved continual rolling coverage at the top 1-2 items on the online herald??

This a new fucking low, even by the NZ fucking herald standards.

Based on what you hear of Lewis, maybe he turned up at SkyCity and didn't have people fawning over him, kissing his arse, which is why he considered he was treated like dirt...but yeh, is pretty embarrassing alright!

I actually read a copy the print edition (I know, right) of the Herald last year, and it was 90% less frivolous than their website. Apparently many newspapers are similar. The Guardian has just as much "right on" click-bait trash in it's print edition though.

Case in point , they took the best part of a month to report the guy who threw sludge on Brownlee was convicted of possessing child porn . They still printed his bullshit excuse about his sons death triggering his interest in fapping to images of child sex abuse.
http://m.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11605932

The ODT will update some local stories throughout the day - particularly if it's breaking - but most stories are kept for release at 5am the next day along with the print edition.

I also hope it works, Jegga . . .

Well good luck , I know nothing about the Odt but I kind of pictured it having a pretty loyal local readership including Southland . Hopefully that means the shift to online works out wel.

What's worse, that seemed so daft that I had to go to the Herald website to check. Sadly...

c'mon he is a professional driver, if anyone can take a selfie on a motorcycle at 80km an hour, its him!

Was it him that got in trouble a few years back in Aus before/after the F1 there for doing burnouts or something?

I've been following this,http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/77904864/seized-72-ford-gt-sells-for-60k-after-dunedin-owner-loses-burnout-appeal

Basically the guy did a burnout in the street in front of a few witnesses including an off duty cop , he tried to claim that the cops couldn't confiscate it because his wife needed it to drive around. They are separated and she has her own car, besides he's basically turned it into a road legal racer and he has it tied up in a family trust.

Like most people who think they are smarter than the authorities he isn't so they sold the car and are giving him whatevers left over.

It isn't actually a gt either, it's a south african model sold over there as a fairmont gt. People started importing them to nz and oz after they became aware of their existence via the internet as a cheap way of getting into a car that was close to a gt specs, they also had holdens with chevrolet badges and v8 powered ford capris over there along with cortina utes which we never got.
