William and Kate did a kids charity thing and of course got questions about the interview flung at them. He said he hasn't spoken to Harry, and I see people on twitter mocking him for it.
In all honesty, if a sibling of mine went on Oprah to trash me and my spouse and the whole family with racism accusations, I'd need more than a few days to simmer down. Probably more like years. I think Harry is going to realise pretty soon that the nuclear option wasn't perhaps the best choice. Short term headlines, sure. Long term?

That was something that made me snort, the whole we got cut off financially sob story. He has millions from his mother, she has millions from acting. They have a multi million dollar property in a very swanky neighbourhood. They aren't exactly in a shelter and eating at the local mission. Plus why would the royal family fund them living in America and not doing any official duties? Come on now.
Yeah, in amongst all the celebrity bluster, the whole thing came across to me as somebody just airing the dirty family laundry. And that's never cool.
Is there a family out there which doesn't have a member who'd question the colour of the kids? Is that racist? What does racist even mean anymore? And as for poor old Meghan having a cry after a fight with her sister-in-law ... is that news? Really?
As someone with mixed kids let me answer - musing over what the colour of the kids skin is going to be is not racist. Being concerned about the colour of the kids skin is. But who knows what happened here? They should never have raised it if they weren't willing to give specifics.

@no-quarter yeah, what was actually said and by who. I really hate the way the whole family was thrown under the bus for alleged negative comments. That has a real Trumpian air of "people say..."

The family were probably more concerned the kid would be another ginger...

I am a bit of a republican but:
The Queen has been through WW2 as a poster child for the British people, she became a beautiful (?), young queen and has led the UK and commonwealth since 1959 (?), overseen unbelievable changes, never put a foot wrong in the public eye, never waived her duty, and even apologised to the friggen Irish! It wouldn't be hyperbole to say she is one of the most beloved characters in modern history.
VS
Markle........The yanks just don't get it. I think Markle makes a perfect fit with their fucked up society problems at the moment.

@old-samurai-jack yep. The sheer amount of American glee that Meghan had destroyed the British monarchy with a single Oprah interview was both nauseating and hilarious.
Also fuck American hypocrisy. And the rah rah bullshit. You would think that the massive issues that country has they might show a little humility now and again. But nope. They are the Titanic captain saying greatest ship ever when a metre remains above water.

Despite however much he loves her and enjoys thier relationship, he shouldnt have allowed the interview to go the way it did, and just makes himself out to be weak.
I dont deny it must be tough growing up the way those boys did, especially Harry being #2, but c'mon mate, you have suddenly seen the light and you dislike all your family enough to throw shade on them all?

@taniwharugby you're implying he had a say in the scripting and editing of this ratings bonanza. He's the only white male in attendance- of course he has to be the shill. It's 2021! Don't tell me you also believe "reality" TV shows 😉

Fair play to Meghan. She is a woke, self-regarding, ambitious, Californian, gold digger. By sitting down next to an English Prince and pouring out her troubles to Oprah in front of millions she was living the dream as it were. I am sure she will always now make a living as a day-time soap actress or a lifestyle commentator on a left-wing US TV channel.
But, dear Lord, Prince Harry. What a tiresome, tedious, self-loathing, little shit that guy has become. I feel sorry for the County of Sussex for having such an appalling Duke.

@mn5 Okay's he's better than Edward VIII and Prince Andrew but that's a low test of character.
The Windsors do seem to have produced a few rotten eggs.
