First tape
It’s not available in my area and I’m dying to find out.
You'll be disappointed....
It was Funky Town, Psuedo Echo
I'm not proud of it
No wonder it doesn’t show up in Japan!
High standards over there huh?

I think this was my first "taped off the radio". Or maybe - Star Trekkin'. Back off, I was a kid.
First dubbed tape - Def Leppard - Hysteria.
First purchased tape - GnR - Use Your Illusion II.
First CDs - Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Queen - Greatest Hits I&II, and something else... can't remember. Just remember buying 3 at once. -

@kruse Casey Cason American Top 40...hated it when they talked through the song intro or before it finished as you sat there fingers hovering over 'play/record' after waiting an hour for the song you wanted
Fuck yes... especially the end... you think you've finally got a pristine perfectly timed recording, and then the fluffybunnies start prattling on about some shit with 30 seconds of the song to go.
And I distinctly remember trying to get a recording of November Rain... 90% of the time the station would cut the song off when it sounded like it was coming to a finish, but actually had a couple of minutes to go. -
Remember going with my dad to buy these Albums for my mum. Must have been 1984-85.
Then this gem

My first album
Had to share it with my brother (not Duluth before he bans me) and it was sold in the supermarket, only album that was at the time.
Come at me.
In 1991 I have enough money as a 14yr old for 1 album. It was a close run race between:
And
My mate talked me into getting the Genesis album, I've never forgiven him

No mention of the late, great Dusty Hill and the rest of the boys doing their most 80’s song ever ? Shame on you all
Didn't you just do that?
Yeah but I’ve been out and about all day

The first record I ever bought with my own money (actually I'm not sure it was my own, my Mum probably gave it to me) was Pass the Dutchie for my Dad for his birthday.
I had no idea what the song was about.
I remember that one when I lived in Nelson and went on car rides with the old man in the VW. I belted it out really loudly despite not knowing the words…..actually this is a habit I never grew out of.
