<p>The thing I find most fascinating about American gun nuts is that they have the sensitivity of the devoutly and publicly religious. They cannot brook any criticism, and must be politically placated. They even have their own persecution complex, and elaborate mythology of bullshit arguments and conspiracy theories.</p>
