it's a damn sight more accurate than the "gazing lovingly to the other side of the room over a coffee and a plate of chicken wings at Mr Bun" yardstick used by others.

I meant they are the best 3 current options as AB starters. Fekitoa, I think, would make the ideal impact sub as he offers something different. At the risk of repeating myself, Fekitoa could be useful as a 2nd 5 if told just to run straight and tackle anything that comes his way. Centre requires a more rounded game which he lacks.

But as you say, Fekitoa would have to be rated the no.1 midfielder of these 4 by the selectors based on last year.

Ngatai has yet to show he is not this generation's Kahui. Who knows, he may grow out of his injury problems but history tells us he is more than likely not going to.

I tell Aussies this all the time. Was viscous by Carozza, headbutting Loe like that, while he legitimately tried to prevent a try from being scored.

I like Richard Loe - he was an exceptional front rower who went on to success in business and as an articulate and interesting occasional commentator.

A busted nose - wow. That incident has been talked up and up and up ever since it happened. It was no big deal at the time - the commentators didn't mention it at all until after the replay - yet a combination of Carozza playing on his home ground before a local crowd and of the emerging age of commentators who felt duty bound to improve the spectacle of rugby, by hyperbolising furiously, gave the headline writers something to screech about. The home town Courier Mail omitted comment on Sam Scott-Young's legitimate (I say) rucking of the head which looked like a ball. Well, it might have been Fitzpatricks' or Ian Jones' scone - a righteous rucking.

It happened 26 years ago and I am amused the standard-of-outraged-outrage and ritual distaste for Richard Lowe is now carried by 30 somethings who did not see it. They do the same about "stupid" Campese's in goal pass to Marto the Innocent when they were 4½ years old (we were seated in the front row on the 25 - one of those "Did that really happen?" moments). This lot have never, ever seen a Wallaby side routinely, confidently, competently running the ball but they are nostalgic and expert about that too.

Being a white guy, would it have been okay for me to call Moala a "silverback" in the media? Or would it have been misconstrued?

Just thinking aloud.
