Karaoke fucking sucks.
You have obviously never been in a room full of 20 or more people all belting out Stand by Me at the top of their voices at the end of an all-you-can-drink party in Japan then.
Not stand by me, but I've been in this situation plenty of times. Rolling in the Deep was probably the team classic.
I'm one of those "not in a million years will I do karaoke again" ... then when I'm a few beers in, I'm well up for it.

I think there was mixed reviews over PJ but can't remember which thread.
That really is excellent.

The absolute best group karaoke song is I will survive, because you know there are going to be a bunch of drunk secretaries mooching around afterwards.
-
Bill Burr isn’t actually very funny.

Louis CK is the worst podcast guest. Boring, repetitive, condescending idiot.
I don't find Louis CK funny at all and found him creepy on Parks and Rep - years before his actual creepiness was known.
@Catogrande
On Burr, I think he's great, he's actually pretty subversive. -

Like a lot of those guys, it was different in the old O&A days. He was still a twat but the Rumsfeld interview or talking with Partice about racial slurs are classics

most comedians are pretty hit and miss....BIll Burr, Tim Jeffries, Dave Chappell, Ricky Gervais, Jimmy Carr etc all have some great moments mixed with some not funny stuff.
I've never seen any of Louis CK (had to google him to see who he was in Parks & Rec)

I like Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle...

Mostly just a screaming ginga.
Not much funny about that. -
@Tim said in The hot takes and unpopular opinions:
Most standup is awful, and most old comedians are abysmally unfunny. Old guys banging on about their boring hobby horse.
I think this is very accurate. It’s probably a good thing Eddie Murphy essentially quit after the hilarity of Raw and Delerious and got into movies.
Another Ricky Gervais special with him going on about he just doesn’t give a fuck gets tired really quickly.
…..and with the exception of Billy T James NZ comedians aren’t funny to start with.

The amount of cash Ricky and Bill roll around in, I reckon they're probably doing something right.
I like having Frank as the guy rivalling nepia for hates fun.
@Frank wins easy, hates Shrinking and Bill Burr.

Middling fare for middling viewers.

Sum 41 are vastly underrated. Proper punk that managed to crossover to mainstream.
Love em
