So have any of you Snyder fans actually watched Star Wars Firefly Seven Samurai/The Magnificent Seven Rebel Moon yet?

It's definitely not as good as I was hoping but decent enough. At least those bad South Africans were killed. 😉

The R rated version might be more interesting.

I made the mistake of watching a Snyder cut once, never again. 😉

    Speaking of Snyder ...

Aquaman: The DCEU went out with a whimper, hopefully the DCU under Gunn will be better.

Very average movie, would have been worse if not for Momoa and Patrick Wilson.

Kidman looks like she was CGI. Still funny that Aquaman is half Aussie and half Kiwi.

Best thing about it, less than two hours long.

Bad Santa is the best Xmas comedy of all time bar none. Billy Bob, the kid who plays Thurman, the midget and the late Bernie Mac, John Ritter and Cloris Leachman are just outstanding.

    So fun. So offensive.

I have a feeling I’ve done a review on it already so will refrain from doing so again but golly it was cool to watch for the first time in ages.

@MN5 watched it again only a few nights back. Excellent movie, not just because it comes across as original.

The Equalizer 1,2,3. Watched all 3 on the 15 hour flight from HK back to Pomgolia.

    1. My sort of movie. Bit of depth, loads of action and some good acting from Denzel as well as a brilliant villain. 4 hot russians out of 5 stupid body counts

    2. Classic Hollywood follow up. Shit villain, similar sort of storyline, but still the same ridiculous body count. 2.5 Beverly Hills Cop II out of 5 Beverly Hills Cop 1

    3. Lets try something different and base it in Italy. But follow the same plot. Watchable action in a stunning European setting.

2.5 Don Corleone would turn his grave of what the Mafia turned into out of 5 Fair plays for trying something different.

Simliar to Taken, you only really need to watch the first one.

EDIT: just saw the excellent villain was Leonard from Shortland Street! Mind officially blown!!!

Watched DH3 and 4.0 over successive nights. CF Jr preferred 3, I preferred 4. Bruce was in fine form in 4, just 5 to go

    There were 9 Die Hards?

Watched the Army of the Dead prequel again tonight, Army of Thieves. Great fun and CF Jr and his cousin enjoyed the puzzle solving aspect. Sets Dieter up nicely for Army of the Dead, will probably revisit that with the kids soon

I think Trading Places deserves a mention before that

    @MN5

As a film set at Christmas time, it's really good, but it's not really a Christmas film like Vacation or Bad Santa.

Gotta give a shout out to The Muppet Christmas Carol too

    Leave the World behind

Yeah, more like leave this movie behind. I won’t say too much as I don’t want to leave any spoilers but it was shit. Julia Roberts took her angry pills, Ethan Hawke has fallen a long way since Training Day…….and the movie left nothing but unanswered questions. Pointless. Avoid this one.

Rebel Moon. Well at least the first hour or so. Really shit. How ZS managed to fůck this up is beyond me. Could have been great but was awful. Disagree with @NTA that this would be loved if made in the 80s. Firstly the 80s film-makers would have killed for this budget and effects. Second, an 80s version would have been camp as fůck. I don't know wtf this was.

Had to watch 300 to detox. Now that's a good film.

    The Color of Money.

First watch for over a decade. Cruise and Newman were perfectly cast, but had forgotten that it was much more Newman's movie than Cruise.

    4/5

Malbatt: Misi Bakara - the story of the Malay battalion that helped the US's rescue mission in Mogadishu as part of the UN, more famously known for Black Hawk Down.

Apparently it took 20 years for them to be officially recognised for thier efforts there too!

Obviously subtitled, think it was on a more modest budget than BHD, but seems the director had recently watched the original Top Gun as a scene early on was reminiscent of the famous volley ball scene....anywhoo, decent enough movie, if not struggling a bit with thier lack of budget with some of the cgi work not that great.

Also, am guessing a bit of resentment it took so long to be recognised for thier role in assisting the rescue of US troops with some of the dialogue.
