Midway through Slow Horses and great to see Lamb is still as bigger dry fluffybunny as always.

Loved his line to the Home Secretary (or whatever he was)

She runs my diary, without her I don't know what I am supposed to do, giving me more time to fuck with you (something to that effect anyway)

@Kruse The team of writers the show employs could make a few modifications for the better?

Yeah - okay, so I'm up to episode 4, and more-and-more seeing why people are annoyed at the ridiculosity.
But... I still hold that it is staying extremely true to the source material... particularly in style - and I think that remains part of the charm.

Imagine if they just loosely based it on the books, and people were whinging "But Reacher is supposed to be an imposing semi-autistic giant, not a charming midget!"
<insert gif of Tom Cruise with shit-eating grin>

They could keep the source material and just tighten up the script. Imagine Alan Ritchson in the first Reacher movie - that's what the series should be aspiring to.

Having said that, it still has its redeeming features. Eg: From eight minutes in episode six...

That’s either extreme violence or Dixon’s tits. I shall re-watch either way.

Reading this on wiki, I'm looking forward to it: In an interview with The A.V. Club, López credited John Carpenter's The Thing, Stanley Kubrick's the Overlook, and Ridley Scott's Nostromo as inspiration. She said (to HBO) "Guys, me being who I am, I'm going to tap into that and go for it." referring to the supernatural elements of True Detective's first season, that it had Carcosa and the Yellow King.

Halfway through series 1 of The Bear, on a recommendation. Quite like it; it’s growing on me and I enjoy the disorganised way it’s shot in the kitchen.

    Loved S1 and S2

It’s not a relaxing watch, but it’s worth it

Finally got around to watching season 2 and 3 of Loudermilk. Some episodes better than others, but a couple of really good ones. Even learnt what B and E stood for..(not just breaking and entering)

Think from what I can make out, Farrelly has plans for a season 4 but green light probably depends on new owners Netflix, so nothing happening right now

Twenty minutes into season 2 of Reacher. Why drop him from a chopper instead of bury him in fucking nowhere?

Ummm... yeah, with that kind of attitude, maybe this show ain't for you. That's the least of the dumb.

It's Jack fucking Reacher. If you haven't read the books, here's what to expect:

    • inexplicable decisions
    • contradictory logic in decision-making from one chapter to the next

(Apply above to both antagonist and protagonist, feed it into a Gen-1 AI machine - you've got yourself a Jack Reacher novel/script writing engine)

My time to shine. On a lark I bought Reacher’s big bro’s setworn suit and all the costume departments’ lingerie seconds from S1 off auction.

Missus’ flabber was well and truly ghasted as Smuts waltzed downstairs and hulked the suit (amazing what those film boffins can do with the magic of perspective.) Surprisingly, my growls that Big Joe always has little Jack Reacher’s number were met with first mystification, then mirth.

The lingerie remains untouched. Probably should’ve got her to watch the show first.

    True Detective (TV Series 2014– ) ⭐ 8.9 | Crime, Drama, Mystery

    1h | TV-MA

Strong Fortitude and 30 Days of Night vibe from the opener.

Plus throw in any number of shows recently that have highlighted the fate, futility & fatality of the indigenous.

    Going to be interesting.
