Movie review thread...

Had 2 films left on my Stan list before I shut it down (got three months free, and forgot to turn it off so have gone another 2 months )
Logan Lucky
I'm not sure whether the slow pacing was deliberate, but it made it hard to watch. I thought that it had some great comic bits and the West Virgina drawl was amusing, but it felt like a 55 minute film stretched out.
2 out of 5 fake arms
The Legend of Tarzan
Meh. Watched this because Margot Robbie. It was kind of hodge-podge and some of the CGI was laughable. The involvement of Samuel L Jackson was as grating as Skarsgard's accent.
2 out of 5 ridiculous survivals from being beat up by a gorilla.
Wow, I really liked that film, but then I've always been a fan of Soderbergh. Tarzan was an effort to watch, even with Robbie. I don't mind Skarsgard either, he was great in Generation Kill.
Funnily enough your post just reminded me I was supposed to cancel my Stan subscription ... yesterday.
TBH, if I could have gotten a decent feed on my tv I would have kept it on purpose. It has enough different shows/movies from Netflix to make it worthwhile at least for a few months. It's fine on my laptop, but on the app on my tv it's buggy as shit.

Because it was on, i watched The Colour of Money on Wednesday. Good movie that, Paul Newman is the fucking man
Nick I really liked Logan Lucky, i thought it was really entertaining, and i liked both the little twists at the end.

@Nepia @mariner4life it could have been due to time pressures, that I found the pacing particularly annoying on Logan Lucky.
I saw it in the cinema so the pacing may not have been as pronounced (always find I prefer a slow paced movie in the cinema than at home).
Daniel Craig's performance almost made up for his Bond output outside of Casino Royale. Excuse me while I wait this one out in here:

somehow came across this movie on IMDB
Which had this review:
I like this movie. For once they show strong women warriors without all the T & A. It kind of reads like a graphic novel. Has some gore (come on, what's a sword fight without blood?), bit nothing too gross. If you like strong women and swords, you will like this movie.

I so want this to be good. First time Cameron has been involved since T2, so fingers crossed.
The terminator timeline is such a fucken mess. Dr Emmett Brown would throw his hands in the air and jump off a building.
But yes I too hope this is awesome....

@MN5 this simplified it apparently, they ignore everything after T2.

Going to R rated too

Serenity - Matthew McConaughey, Anne HAthaway, Diane Lane, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou
Stellar cast, but not sure what to make of the film.
I watched it through, intrigued, but the twist, really?
3 bottles of rum out of 5 wait, what?
:::
The twist makes the film all but pointless, I guess there were hints at what was going on, and while I managed to work out it was all something to do with the son, and thought he had created the game and tackle co, I didnt realise it was pretty much just a computer game.
Odd
