Pleasantly surprised by how, well, not bad this song is and hats off to them for still rocking at their age.
I thought they sounded like tired old rockers in the mid 90s, this is genuinely better.
Keep doing what ya love Purple !
The recent albums by DP (produced by Bob Ezrin) have been really good. It was a shame that Steve Morse had to leave to be with his wife who was battling cancer.

The new guy sounds ok but Blackmore is irreplaceable. One of the absolute guitar geniuses.
Nothing they’ve ever done comes close to Deep Purple in Rock. One of my favourite albums ever. Perfect Strangers was a surprisingly good album though.

Yeah I remember the old man had this on vinyl.
As I mentioned when he passed away on here I always wished he’d teamed up with a great singer on a regular basis and got the superstardom his talent warranted. He just did some absolutely freakish stuff on the guitar. So much more amazing than any other guitar hero of that era ( Richie Blackmore comes closest in my opinion )

A lot of guitar music comes across as over-cooked and flashy which can sound really harsh to my ears after a while and doesn't stand more than a few listens.
This is the opposite - easy to listen to, appreciate and enjoy. In a weird way the guitar doesn't seem the star but like a singer serving the overall music. A lot is down to George Martin's production - every instrument is clear, precise and fits perfectly into the music overall.
