Coronavirus - Overall

@Hooroo Yep, unless mosh pits have changed in the last couple years there should be a significant spread of body fluids going on there.

"Those people who were in the standing area were casual contacts, they are not close contacts," he said.
There could be a hundred casual contacts with the confirmed case who attended the Tool concert. These people were of a very low risk.
Close proximity was defined as within a metre of the infected person for more than 15 minutes.
Again if he was in a pit those folk..and the folk they bash into aren't casual, they are close..intimate even.
That's the rub with this one, because symptoms can be relatively mild would you skip a concert-of-a-lifetime just for the sniffles?

I like the Tasmanian who was asked to self quarantine, agreed and then promptly went shopping for supplies.

I was at the Friday gig but in the seated section. I've picked up a cold so that's provided some scope for a bit of humour at work luckily there haven't been any overreactions... although a week or two off would be primo!!
It does make you think though in terms of actually being contagious - when you start to think about contact with family, one gym session this week, meetings etc at work before my sniffles started where I was shaking hands. You can see how swiftly things can spread.
Makes it kind of maddening that that family flying in from a hot zone, with symptoms, just kept on with life!

@Siam said in Coronavirus: should I be panicking yet?:
I've discovered a way to ease all anxiety about this "pandemic "
Just replace " coronavirus" with the word "flu" 😁
E.g. I'm worried about travelling in case I get the flu
I won't shake your hand for fear of contracting the flu
Easy peasy 👍
Authorities are operating on the assumption that its better the devil you know

Hah! Went to check in to go to Korea but our travel agent blocked us from doing so so we got turned away and are now stuck in Sapporo for another night before being able to head home as we're blocked from going to Korea.

From what I read she advised she was just tired as you'd expect after a long haul flight, she also visit a GP with concerns and they said she was fine, symptoms only properly kicked in when she was in Palmerston North so she changed her flight and flew back immediately. This was all late February too when Italy only had cases in the low hundreds kind of where Spain/Germany/France are right now. Assuming what she says is accurate I can't really blame her, I think the medical establishment is only just now starting to come to terms with how quickly this spreads.
I'd be picking Spain/Germany/France cases all to be moving well into 4 figures within a week, after that well at some point you're not going to have the capacity to test.

@taniwharugby I especially liked this bit:-
And we’ve scientifically proven our remedy to be scientifically proven with no margarine for error. A focus group of three rated the essential oils soaked crystals as “excellent”
