I have to admit, if Pols wins on Friday, I think I will be beering!

you could always switch to half pints.........

Just means you'll be at the bar twice as often as everyone else, cardio right there.

I figure that I am doing this over a long time as I should be looking at losing nearly 30kgs in a healthy way so it is going to take ages. I need to make sure that I enjoy the events that happen and be good unless there is reason not to be

I turn 40 early next month and am strongly considering dropping the booze for the rest of the year (after the party of course). It helps that our little office has decided to have a weight-shredding competition in May, followed by a press-up competition in June (aka June-Up) where, last year, the winner completed 9700 press-ups in the month of June.

If that's not a kick-start, I don't know what is. Currently sitting at 6ft & 98kg & could definitely do with some off the waistline.

I've met you ( albeit at the pub many years ago )......

have you been going to the same measuring place as Ardie Savea ?

    No.

Sweet, I must be 6 foot 4 then

    OKm8.

A good start to the week. Haven't strayed off the diet.

Last night was my first concern as true-love wanted a salmon dish that had cream in it. I cooked it and it was yum but was kind of disappointed I had cream.

Anyhoooo Weigh in days are today (Thursdays) and Mondays. Thursday to remind myself not to slip too much on the weekend and Monday to see if I was a tool over the weekend.

I do realise in the first week will be the greatest gains but from last Saturday Morning's weight of 131.9kg, (I only started the regime on Monday) I have lost 2.8kg.

    New weight 129.1kg Yay

    Well done!!!! Great job 💪🏻👏🏻

Still yet to have a carb but had an issue today in Rotorua.

Went out to get a salad and couldn't find one carb or dressing free so ended up just buying some baked chicken.

I am trying to eat healthy and not just stick to meat. I have been having protein one meal a day so far but today it will be two meals.

Had a Broccoli, Pea and runner bean salad yesterday and it was really nice. Hooroo two weeks ago wouldn't have dreamt he would ever say such a thing.

I had beer and champagne tonight because of the horse winning.

That’s all good though as I want to be able to enjoy a celebration

In saying that, I made sure I had no carbs tonight.

Hmmm. All I will say is that you are consuming the right sort of carbs.

    In my opinion. 🙂

OK so I weighed in on Monday and I am back up to 130.2 so 1.1kg effect over the weekend.

That's ok though as I will celebrate wins.

Monday was a bad day too in terms of diet as played ambrose tournament with @JK and there was booze and naughty food everywhere for this fat man!

Back on the wagon now though

Obviously the scales are a good way of measuring progression but I feel there's a bit too much of an attention on that. The most important thing should be getting the right balance in terms of exercise, diet and enjoyment. Get a plan in place then ignore the scales for a while. Will get a bit manic checking them all the time and that's not helpful.

You are right about that. I decided this morning that I am reverting to Thursday weigh in day only!

I use an app that smooths out daily fluctuations so you don't get disheartened when it goes up. As long as it's trending down, it's all good.

Weekly weighins is a good idea.

@Hooroo Happy Scale. I like it because you set a target, and it breaks it down into ten milestones. Sort of breaks it up into what feels like attainable chunks.

thanks @Kirwan have downloaded both of those apps. Wasn't pleased that happy scale told me I should be 76 fucking kg at my upper BMI weight range. Boo!! ha ha but I know it'll be super useful for tracking change - now that I've updated it to a genuine weight goal!!

Re fasting - what ranges/durations are you guys going for? I've been roughly following a 12 one from when I last eat in the evening. So that can be from 8-9pm onwards. I have been trying to pull that back to 7.30pm latest but that hasn't been easy to stick to. Going to run with the 13 hour option but not from sunset - rather from when I last eat.

@Paekakboyz it all depends on what you are going for, I'm trying to get weight off so started with 16/8 and am currently doing 20/4. Managed to get the last meal around 6.30/7pm at the moment, but I always ate early thanks to the kids.
