Absolute fucking disgrace from Hancock not resigning, especially after his recorded reactions and opinions when Ferguson was caught.
Absolute fucking disgrace Boris backing him.
This lot really are a shower of contemptible CUN*S
When affairs are involved everyone gets a free ride from Boris. Can't be any other way.
How many kids was that again Boris? Do you know their names?

In all seriousness though, how on earth can people like this have the required judgement to run a country?
Ignoring the covid part for a second, the idea that you can hire a lobbyist without approval so you can then get in her pants and not attract a feral media on the hunt for a gotcha moment is naive in the extreme.
Then add in the bit that you are meant to be handling a crisis and one of the tools you have applied is people not getting close to each other? Astounding. -

I think most people in the UK are a wee bit too grown up to worry much about politicians' extra-marital affairs and how many children politician X has fathered.
-
Couldn't care about his affair but, sadly, no-one gives a stuff about the "do as I say, not as I do" aspects of Hancock's episode.
And the media have cried wolf so many times and called for so many resignations (remember Boris and the No.10 refurbishment "scandal"?) that people just shrug their shoulders now.

Man cheats on wife with someone from work is hardly revolutionary stuff.
I am still kind of astounded that people expect politicians to be so much better than "normal" people.
Do your job well, don't be corrupt. That should be the expectation. I never get this "now I question their judgement " moralistic bullshit people like to spout.

Politicians are allowed private lives and are human, of course. But sometimes there are big clues in repeated private behaviour that makes you question the way they think and act (or act without thinking).
Things like commitment, responsibility and discretion. We understand that loyalty is not a political trait. -

I questioned his judgement based on thinking he wouldn't get caught.
Having an affair in a gossipy backstabbing and leaky environment? Pretty dumb. -

I get this thinking for sure and it's definitely the more modern take on it.
But.....call me old fashioned but a guy who betrays the trust of his wife like that probably does the same to his constituents / the country on a daily basis.
Reminds me of a hedge fund that set up an automated strategy in the early days of social media looking at the profile pictures of CEOs of listed companies, then shorted those containing women, cars, yachts or planes. Outperformed the market by over 100%.

This
Having an affair, that’s his business. Could not care less.
Breaking the rules he’s established for his own end (see what I did there 😉) and doling out the old ‘mea culpa’ and ‘Keep Calm and Carry on Covid’ is the shit that rankles.
How anyone can justify this (Boris etc) when hundreds of thousands of people were unable to visit and comfort loved ones in their final weeks, days & hours of their lives is beyond my level of comprehension.
Hypocritical, despicable, vile, evil
These fuckers are sociopaths

Having an affair in a gossipy backstabbing and leaky environment? Pretty dumb. It’s not the affair per se that people are up in arms about is it? I thought it was more the fact that the man who was imposing COVID restrictions on the whole country - including restricting close personal contact with loved ones outside of the immediate household - was flouting those same restrictions in the most glaring way. Isn’t it the rank hypocrisy of it all that people are upset about or am I missing something?

No. You are on the right track. I was just explaining why I thought the affair part was a slight on the perception of his judgement.
For me it isn't a moral thing it is a display of a lack of smarts.
The Covid part is separate. -

Spent some time working with a senior dude in one of the Big 6 accountancy houses. One of the measures he used when auditing a takeover target was the number, age and type of car in the exec car park.
He had a scoring system - a Porsche less than 1 year-old was minus 5 points, while a 5 year old Jaguar or Merc was + 5 points

There’s two very different aspects being discussed here.
