Murray Walker - the voice of Formula One.

A lot smarter than he sounded at times when commentating and by all accounts a helluva good bloke.

RIP. Murray Walker and James Hunt were one of the very best sports commentary double acts.

    Good snooker commentator as well...

I would watch more snooker if that was what the commentary was like

Former undisputed middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler, one of the greatest pound-for-pound champions of all time, has died aged 66.

The Hearns v Hagler fight, all time great for such a short fight.

Undoubtedly. Guys really FOUGHT in those days unlike so much of what we see nowadays ( cough cough Floyd Mayweather ). I’ve watched that fight on more than one occasion with the old man, both guys were absolutely tough as fuck.

Hagler only got knocked down once in his whole career and even that was disputed as possibly being a slip. So powerful and intimidating at his best.

    RIP.

Yaphet Kotto, star of Live and Let Die and Alien, dies aged 81

Yaphet Kotto, star of Live and Let Die and Alien, dies aged 81

The actor, who played the lead villain in the 1973 Bond film, also starred in hit TV series Homicide: Life on the Street

A brilliant Bond baddie, a tough smartass in Alien and Arnies buddy in The Running Man. That’s a pretty damn impressive CV. Had a huge presence on screen. Two of those movies are in my all time favourite lists actually.

    RIP

    Sabine Schmitz.

Regular guest / guest presenter on Top Gear, queen of the Nurburgring.

Only 51 from the big C.

Really shitty news, seemed a wonderful, genuine happy person.

One of my favourite actors. Incredibly gifted, could seeming play any role and way, way better than many A-listers

Sabine Schmitz, who drove the “Ring Taxi” at the Nurburgring, has died of cancer at 51. RIP.

... and in true Fern fashion, I didn't read the other posts that already mentioned this. As you were, all.

I've been meaning to get a hold of Nothing But a Man - his first film - for ages.

Highly rated and been recommended to me by more than a few people.

He wasn’t actually in a huge amount of movies but definitely a massive presence when he was. Parker is by far my favourite character in the original Alien.

One of the first movies I watched with Yaphet Kotto was Raid on Entebbe in which he played Idi Amin.
