The one thing in common is the age. Both men passed away far too soon. Both were huge in stature in their respective fields too

Ian Healy is a fucking dick and his "I'm not surprised Warney has passed away young" comment shows just what a fuck stick he is. Fuck you Ian Healy you cuntstain.

Why? Because he's being honest that a close friend of his didn't look after himself and he was worried he'd die early as a result?

I feel like it was a little too soon for that sort of honesty, at least in public comments. His family will still be struggling to get to grips with the loss

Of course they will, it's terribly sad, but I reckon Heals knows them better than randoms on the internet. They'd also have an idea of the damage he had inflicted on himself over the years - this insight wouldn't have come out of the blue.

And TBH I've never understood this "too soon" argument. Who determines that?

Obviously too soon for Shark... I agree, he knows Warne better than any of us. If it was me I wouldn't have made the comment in public. But that's just me

To be fair, Warnie shagged about 20% of the women in Accrington.

To be fair, that's not really a boast.

It would be a fair bet that Shane did not once speak about porking sheilas in Accrington, or anywhere, who were in their "very early 90s"! šŸ™‚

You have to hand it to the guy, pretty indiscriminate. Quantity AND quality. Legend!

And a bloody good cricketer too.

New Zealand Archives - Australian Golf Digest

    Aussie Golfer Wayne Riley

Riley is in Orlando this week working his usual job as an on-course commentator for Sky Sports in the UK, although the bulk of his work is on the European Tour. Warne was an avid watcher of European Tour golf and would regularly text Riley while he was on air and sledge him about things he’d just said.

ā€œHe had a way of making every Australian feel like they knew him. He was all of us, but he happened to be one of the greatest cricketers ever. I’m gutted.ā€

Weird feeling. A bit like if Jordan died.

I won’t miss his commentary but will miss his personality

Well the article that @Donsteppa shared claimed he didn’t drink much and never took drugs.

I’m calling absolute bullshit on that, not judging Warnie but to make out he was someone who abstained is just nonsense.

Healy ( who I thought was a bit of a dick before this comment ) might want to time his comments better but I don’t think he’s saying anything untrue.

    Spot on.

My first response was about heart disease being a massive killer for middle aged men, but deleted as it was too soon.

Healy probably knew him well, but it's landed with a clang. That said, male Ferners look after yourselves, eat clean, drink in moderation and keep exercising. Do as I say not as I do basically

Absolutely this. Furthermore If anything his manager claiming Warne had this good clean lifestyle is doing more damage cos we all read it and scream ā€˜bullshit’.

Similar principle to the Mum who’s son has been convicted of murder but she says ā€˜he’s a good boy really’

Ooooooo good point. Also didn’t he lose it when some kids took a photo of him smoking ?

Proved what a legend he is that none of this detracted from his amazing deeds and standing within the game.

    Get the fuck outta here.

When I commented to a mate that Warneys death would likely cause many a middle-aged Aussie to take better care of themselves, he made the point that that's probably exactly what Warney wouldn't want.

    Keep living fellas!

I think he was promoting nicotine patches at the time.
