For me it's hard to go past Richard Loe with his eye gouging and his Paul Carozza.
Perhaps not as premeditated, but still really shitty things to do.

@bayimports my bro and I stayed up to watch that match and it was one of those “aye, what just happened” moments. Couldn’t believe it, but seemed more surreal because it certainly was a unique one.

Piet van Zyl was pretty shitty as well.

Loe was a disgrace to the Black jersey.
For me: Seeing an England player (Dean Richards I think) repeatedly kick John Timu in the head 2-3 times when he was trapped in a ruck.
Not on the pitch itself, but racist chanting at Twickenham.

I don’t recall this incident and it doesn’t sound like Deano, but he was a hard bastard so it is possible.

Never experienced anything like that at Twickenham, or any other major rugby ground. The odd single knobhead yeah but that quickly gets shouted down.

Grewcock was just dumb while Loe was on another, cynical level who did it again and again.

Was around 2006/7. Monkey sounds directed at Pasifika players. Aaron Mauger remarked on it IIRC. Way different now though and kudos to the RFU for sorting that out.

It was on Frank Bunce and there was nothing hard bastard about it. The UK press didn't remark on it all but then had a collective meltdown when something similar happened to Phil DeGraville on a tour later the same year (by Jamie Joseph IIRC). They even brought in the Chariots of Fire writer to write an inflammatory article about it - yep, he's as shit at sports writing as he is at scripting.
