All Blacks vs Pumas I

Possible changes to the team?

This is usually the best chance to give guys opportunities (although some might argue last night was).

Thankfully no injuries and we might even get guys back.

If Franks gets a ban then I wonder if they will bring anyone else in. Not a lot of THP cover around.

Maybe Atu Moli or Ben May?
-
Give faimuiaina, tuipolotou and Dixon starts.

Sopoaga to the bench. Pray we have 3 fit midfielders. Naholo back if fit.

If daring McKenzie or Ioane on the bench. -
From what little footage there is it doesn't look good for Owen. If not an eye gouge, certainly a deliberate and sustained playing of the head of an opponent which World Rugby take a dim view of.

I'd say so. There's no excuse for that.
-

Don't reckon it was an eye-gouge, but it was a rubbish facial and it was dumb and he'll go for a few weeks (whats the minimum for an eye-gouge?)

For all the niggly shit the Wobblies pulled, this from Franks, and Dane Coles clear intent to smash his fore-arm into (insert player here) that luckily became a clumsy clean-out, it showed they managed to frustrate some of AB's into a reaction, that frustration probably stemmed from the Ref doing nothing about the niggle, it had to have been clear to the AB's thats all the Wobblies had, and frustration from the AB's with themselves, as the game struggled to reach any great heights - and for all the BS, the AB's should've probably put a few more points on the board.

It was one of those games where the AB's had it in the bag from the 5th minute, like where you know you're the superior side, you've just got to stick with what you're doing for the 80min and you'll win, but you got to put up with the opposition being dicks. Mostly we got there.
-
Frank's has gotten dirtier and dirtier in the last 4 years.

On topic id just play the same team. Maybe give Ardie a start but other than that this Argie team deserves a full strength ABS team. We could probably beat them ringing the changes but id rather not fuck about too much.

Nah I reckon it was. Short and sweet.

All the talk of rotation is jumping the shark and getting a bit too ahead of ourselves. The Argies are a better team than the Welsh and there wasn't exactly much rotation even in the third June test, so I doubt we'll see much of anything here either.

Franks will definitely be gone though.
-

I'd like to see ALB keep his place in the team, reminded me of Kahui, thought he combined really well with Barrett considering they probably only met for the first time last week. Will Crotty get back though?
Franks will be gone, so need a new prop.

I think we'll bring in another lock, which means losing a loosie from the bench - I would've mind Squire or E.Dixon be given a start for Kaino (save him for SA) - but Kaino's in such good form so thats not going to happen. Definitely can't keep smashing Whitelock & Retallick all game, every game.

It would be good to give Sopoaga the bench spot, I wonder if Cruden's struggles there are the combo with TJP - i thought he'd have combined better with ALB for the time he was on, than he did, but also it seemed Beauden still got most of the better pill so may have just been the way the game went. Basically Cruden looks a million bucks, when he was SBW outside him.

In the backs, Dagg was good on the wing, his propensity to be a hungus and go for it is better suited there than at FB. Julian Savea wasn't classic Julian, but nor was he useless Julian - once he got that ball on the 22, I knew he was good for that try. Fekitoa was pretty good. Tamanivula did a couple of good things.

SO overall not much to change eh?

So I take it Ofa Tu'ungafasi will definitely be in with Franks likely to be suspended? Hmmm...

No citing for Franks:

Yep. These guys aren't easy-beats anymore. I reckon we have to have a side at least 80% full strength or there could be problems. -

Geez, what do the Franks boys have on SANZAAR? Not the first time they've gotten away with murder.
It would be great if there was an explanation for the non-citing. Such as the citing commissioner spoke to Kane and the ref as well as reviewing other footage.

Yeah, we're still trying to bed in a relatively new set of starting inside backs (10, 12, 13), and openside. I'd just be grateful we've been able to do that so effectively, but not tempt fate by messing further... just give it even more time to keep rolling. I'd consider some bench experimentation though.

Is that the only footage of it? Big difference between a facial and eye gouging. Im sure the reaction from the wallabies player would have been very different if it was an eye gouge and as far as i can remember there was no allegation at the time.
