Someone on Facebook made a very brutal yet valid point; Auckland Airport now has time to make lasting and overdue runway repairs.
If their contractors are allowed to work....

And the rest of the roads in NZ.. it’s not like they are being used at the moment, but I guess Fulton Hogan prefers to only work in peak roads at peak times....

They've just finished the work in Willis St, Wellington . On replacing the broken sewer. So that continued during lockdown. Sewage is an essential service.
If the end of 4 week lockdown is staged. Would hope construction (and our bloody recycling service, and butchers and grocers) are in first tranche to restart.

the pump in our water tank has decided not to work this morning, so I had to contact a supplier to come and look at it.
After speaking to him I had to send him a text confirming my name, address and the issue, he sent a text back with H & S process aorund what we can and cant do when he is on site, and had to confirm none of us were ill.
Be interesting to see what they try to charge though...

Offer him a cup of tea and piece of home made cake when he shows up, don’t forget to film his reaction...

@nzzp well given if the pump has failed completely, will be our 3rd inside 5 years, both times just outside warranty period....
Was even a threa don here about it and the CGA....but yeah, we will have to pay what they charge, which you would hope is normal rates, given it is a Monday and they should be happy with the work.

Lots of useful graphs in this article from yesterday (29 March):
Thanks for sharing that, some great data there. Particually about the ICU beds, and where the tipping point would be.

@R-L
5 grams Yeast
1 cup Plain Flour
1 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Butter
2 cups Water warmIn a bowl or jug, mix the yeast with a few tablespoons of the warm water, stir until the yeast is dissolved and leave for about five minutes.
In a separate bowl, add the salt and sift in the flour. Whisk about 2/3 of the remaining water into the flour, then add the yeast mixture.
Cover and leave in a warm place until the mixture doubles (about an hour). The mixture should be quite thick but pour quite easily. Add more water if you think it is required.
Heat a frypan pan gently and spray with canola oil. Using egg rings - grease each lightly with canola spray - put the rings into the pan and pour in enough batter to fill each ring about 1/2 full.
Cook on a low heat for about 4 minutes or until small holes appear and the tops of the crumpets appears to be 'pasty'. Take off the rings and flip the crumpet to brown on the top (about one minute). -

@JC I did not know that. I remember living on the edge of the South Down's 40 years ago. Fields of Rape would look beautiful in flower
Little oil factoid for the day, rapeseed oil is not edible without a lot of processing. The first company to do this was Canadian, hence the name (an acronym) Canadian oil, low acid
