I find it surprising that L Whitelock won't start at no.8 when he was used in the French series when Read was injured.

If he doesn't, why the fuck is he in the squad?

Do you mean you 'would find it surprising'?

The team hasn't been named yet....(when is that by the way?)

@crucial According to the McKendry on the Herald "The All Blacks starting loose forwards against Argentina a week on Sunday are likely to consist of Shannon Frizell – probably at No 8 – Jackson Hemopo and Sam Cane. Frizell and Hemopo have three tests between them."

I reckon it'll be Whitelock at 8, for experience, in leadership and internationals both. They'll have a raw 6 of Frizzle or Hemopo, I really can;t see both starting

@crucial Basing my comment on what McKendry said, assuming he is correct.

    Frizzell, Cane, L. Whitelock.

Not too concerned about the loosies. We just better pick some pace in the centres and 3/4s

ok, now that would be a test.

not saying that trio have got "first ever test loss to the Argies" written all over them but FFS HOLD ME MUMMY

still, rather Bum Splinters Frizzle than Luke Shitelock.

Why would you include Cane? Savea at 7 in that trio - now THAT would be a test.

I'm not sure why people are surprised about Fifita, Hansen clearly has a thing for running wide Tongan 6s. Why he doesn't like running and tackling Samoan-Maori guys is the big question. Well, actually, he does like one of them, just not the one who plays in the forwards.

Does the Frizz even play 8?
Serious question as I’ve only seen him play 6 or sideline

@crucial Played at 8 against North Harbour a few weeks ago. Don't think he's played there much though.

I am bewildered that we select Fafita, and not give an opportunity to A Ioane. Why not at least give him a run off the bench?

Because he isn’t on the payroll.
Fifita at least deserves a shot.
Not saying Akira doesn’t just that his time hasn’t come yet. They obviously have plans to mature him more before using him. They have had him at enough camps to decide the best plan.

Which is why I am wondering why everyone is thinking a newspaper article is true.
Although I reckon Frizz has dibs on the the backup 6 job. Maybe this could be looking forward to the RWC where we may need some versatility in the loosies

Like the fuck selectors know better than the Fern collective. They are wrong, we are right. End of.

Agreed, especially when you consider an average player like Luke Whitelock gets a spot. NMS's selection is also a ridiculous one. The guy has lost so much of pace it's not funny. Granted the three wise men have done an exceptional job over the years but they are not perfect and do make some bad calls every now and again.

Yeah Fifita has some freakish power and pace. At least equal to A Ioane who I have yet to see jump over a tackler at Mitre 10 cup level.

That game against North Harbour was the first time I've seen Frizell play at 8. He went OK, but he'd be green as fuck for a test match, so I can't see it happening.

I reckon it will be Cane, Frizell, Whitelock, with Hemepo and Ardie on the bench.
