I think they’ll roll the carpet out for Warner. Their top order is screaming for him.
Bancroft is an interesting one. His ban ended today and he’ll be back playing Big Bash tomorrow. His position in the test side prior to the ban was already being questioned as his form was iffy. I doubt he’ll be straight back in.
Finch isn’t an opener, but I think he will be given a shot in the middle order at the SCG.

Will the players welcome him though? Would you want him in your team?
Will the public? What happens when he crosses the line again (or rather, has the line moved so he doesn't cross it, because he's Australian)?
I'm 99% sure the AB selectors would tell him he was never required again.

The public might not like him but the same public know he can score runs and unless the coaches are willing to come out and say publicly that he is a disruptive influence and he’s not wanted, then his selection will be demanded given the top order struggles.

He's a thin-skinned imbecile with a tremendous amount of batting talent. So the question is whether his employers value winning over his teammates hatred.

Australia are desperate for top order talent, and these two guys are easily their best. When you are getting humbled at home, a couple of World XI players coming in is an easy fix.
But team dynamics is a huge thing, and unfortunately for the team, so is public perception. Does Smith come back as Captain? or is the limited but likable Paine retained? (his chat behind the stumps is fucking great). Do the players want Dave back? Do the public? Does Dave want to come back given the prevailing public attitude?
I think they'll both be straight back in, but Smith i doubt in leadership roles. And there will be pretty strong "good behaviour" bonds on both of them.

They'll both walk back in, but if they don't perform they'll be absolutely crucified. Ironically I think Bancroft is most tainted at the moment for opening old wounds right before the bans come to an end. Probably very unfair, but it's strange that he would open up about this now. On the other hand, doing the angry dwarf's bidding seriously derailed his career.

The more I look at it the more I realise that Aussie cricket is analysed and covered in Australia to such a massive degree that it will never be issue or controversy free.
The coverage and exposure surrounding Aus cricket leaves nothing unturned or uninvestigated . Every interview comment is scrutinised, and hollow, ratings confession interviews that serve no positive outcome, click bait everywhere
The noise surrounding this team is ridiculous, everything, (fucken open mic comedy night behind the stumps is the latest "noise") is played out on the public stage.
Only winning quells the noise, and even then only a bit.
It's all a bit surreal for me, fuck knows how players can relax
