@RLx31 yep, that was me.Dutchkiora is now @dK

Fullermorg did come back in another guise, purely with his trolling pants on and got promptly banned. I played rugby with him in the UK< great guy, but yeah, huge shark phobia/hatred.

@Crucial do you still hear from Mainlander?

@MN5 that would be Paarlbok...hugely passionate, got more chances than most after numerous bans, he eventually gave up despite the ban not being permanent.

    Redbeard is another.

I also played a season with Fullermog, really good dude. Must have been 2005 or 2006 I guess?

When was that TSF Touch team put together? I still have the t-shirt somewhere

Great thread this, perfect for a Friday afternoon in the office

Fuller was a fun ferner, took untold ribbing over his so called fear of sharks.

Hate comparing eras, buuuuut that period during the mid to late 2000’s was a great time to be on the fern.

Not sure 15 years from now people will be posting, what ever happened to that great guy @MN5 or @mariner4life or do you remember the time we had that convicted serial killer @Snowy

oh fuck here we go. "things were better in my day"

My one goal in life is to be remembered as one of the Fern greats by a bunch of random guys on the internet. I expect people to tell tales of my greatness for years to come.

I guess 30. Not married. No kids. 4 years of rugby left to play.

Lurker in 2003, joined 2004. So 24 when a lurker and am 40 now. Fark me time flies. A shit load has happened in that time. Wish I knew then what I do now.

    (Massive sigh)

I remember the site before the Rivals version (which, from memory, Bart was running the NZ part on behalf of the overall setup). Don't think that went too long until it changed structure and Bart ran TSF on 'Rivals'. So 20 years for me.
    In my 30s!
    That's like yonks ago.

@Crucial @Rancid-Schnitzel I found the Fern in 2002, about the time of England's tour down under. I was looking for a forum that would have some rugby discussions and found The Haka. I soon got bored with every other thread being titled "Cheating Pommy fluffybunnies" and took someone's advice to try TSF. Been stuck here ever since.

On posters that are missed, I always enjoyed Jury's contributions and Dodge was always good for a yarn and a laugh.

@jegga that'll learn ya for visiting those other forums...the time I spend on here is bad enough, which was the only interactions I had with Lee, and found him a great contributor, that Lindommer guy was a fluffybunny though.

Agreed , he showed up after the tahds win and actually called me out in his gloating post . I tried to respond but one of the mods blocked me from the thread .

The only other forum I visit these days is pr , my god there’s some messed up people there. Ghost of Nepia and Uncle FB in particular stand out , glad they don’t post here.

GON, in particular - how dare he sully the good name of an All Black great with his pro-Otago rants.

Agreed, that bastard stole half my name. 😠

I-... I mean "he" first used that on Planet Rugby in 1999. So good luck proving that one in a court of law (unless your real name is actually Nepia...)

So you, um he, pre-stole a good Hawkes Bay name just like Otago was stealing HB players. What's wrong with Wilson, crap Southland originally, or um, my memory is failing me - some Otago born and bred AB. 🙂

    Well, for starters, Wilson wasn't - and still isn't - dead . . .

On Lee Grant [Aussie] ... he was for the most part considered and reasonable, but on rare occasion his veneer would slip and his bias and stereotyping of opposition's supporters would show. I suppose that's understandable. But I digress ...

Shit, this Lee Grant guy is starting to sound a bit like a sports fan posting his thoughts on a sports forum.

@Crucial yeah I stumbled on the Rivals site in 99 when a work colleague in the UK asked me if I wanted to play Fantasy F1, which was run by rivals too, and there was this rugby site...

LOved those old threads that webbed across the page haha

IIRC I found the Fern via PR circa 2002. Bartman made me a mod I think 2003? All I know is that I was about 24, sexy AF and drunk on power.

    Ah, the good old days.

They never really existed. @BartMan and @Kirwan made them up and posted all sorts of shit to get the numbers up and make the site look good. But then you know that don’t you Bartman?
