Where are they now? (Past Ferners)
-
@Crucial @Rancid-Schnitzel I found the Fern in 2002, about the time of England's tour down under. I was looking for a forum that would have some rugby discussions and found The Haka. I soon got bored with every other thread being titled "Cheating Pommy fluffybunnies" and took someone's advice to try TSF. Been stuck here ever since.
On posters that are missed, I always enjoyed Jury's contributions and Dodge was always good for a yarn and a laugh.

@jegga that'll learn ya for visiting those other forums...the time I spend on here is bad enough, which was the only interactions I had with Lee, and found him a great contributor, that Lindommer guy was a fluffybunny though.
Agreed , he showed up after the tahds win and actually called me out in his gloating post . I tried to respond but one of the mods blocked me from the thread .
The only other forum I visit these days is pr , my god there’s some messed up people there. Ghost of Nepia and Uncle FB in particular stand out , glad they don’t post here.
GON, in particular - how dare he sully the good name of an All Black great with his pro-Otago rants.
Agreed, that bastard stole half my name.
I-... I mean "he" first used that on Planet Rugby in 1999. So good luck proving that one in a court of law (unless your real name is actually Nepia...)
So you, um he, pre-stole a good Hawkes Bay name just like Otago was stealing HB players. What's wrong with Wilson, crap Southland originally, or um, my memory is failing me - some Otago born and bred AB.
Well, for starters, Wilson wasn't - and still isn't - dead . . .
-
On Lee Grant [Aussie] ... he was for the most part considered and reasonable, but on rare occasion his veneer would slip and his bias and stereotyping of opposition's supporters would show. I suppose that's understandable. But I digress ...

@Crucial yeah I stumbled on the Rivals site in 99 when a work colleague in the UK asked me if I wanted to play Fantasy F1, which was run by rivals too, and there was this rugby site...
LOved those old threads that webbed across the page haha

Soooo ... as per the title ... where are they all!
They never really existed. @BartMan and @Kirwan made them up and posted all sorts of shit to get the numbers up and make the site look good. But then you know that don’t you Bartman?

Other than those mentioned, who was the NH poster that supported Northampton? Chris the Saint?? voyeurs was good for a yarn on Bball.
Back in the day there was only a handful that would talk league, can anyone remember the poster that had the warriors logo as his avatar? Was it Auckman?First stumbled on to the Fern after the Wayne Smith coaching saga. Didn’t post, just lurked. Also read a bit in 2003 in the lead up to the RWC. However I didn’t start posting until early 2005 after a chance meeting of another ferner at a rugby club in Canberra (@Mainlander).
I believe his son was posting for a while. That’s when you know you’re an old bugger. The Fern has gone intergenerational...

Also there was that (Indian??) cricket poster. Went by a couple of names during his time I think. Good contributor.

Muss Jnr.
Mainlander was one of those posters that transcended their handle and got renamed. Site visitors must have been puzzled about who this Muss fella was.
Muss and Mrs Muss came to ours to watch the “Fog Final”. We spent most of the time outside drinking and occasionally peering in to see if the game was visible. -

Salil/thaleelbhai?
Was a really good bloke, not sure where he vanished to. I met up with him briefly in Rotorua one Boxing Day when he was in NZ on a family holiday.
