Captain Marvel.
Much funnier than I expected, similar to an Antman type film. Fury was very amusing at times.
I managed to put aside my dislike of Brie “I hate white men” Larsen long enough to enjoy the film (mainly by pretending I was watching Katee Sackhoff).
She’s no Chris Evans, so if they are really planning to base the next phase around her I suspect those plans might change.
Enjoyed the film, but is one of those Marvel films that you forget as you walk out the door (Antman, Thor 2, Black Panther).
3 cats out of 5.
Wait you don’t like Brie Larson?
I find it’s best to ignore their stupid pointless opinions (just trying to make themselves more relavent) and focus purely on their looks and hotness.Which Brie is lacking in. She's an average looking girl who benefits from having a bit of a rack.
She has absolutely no butt. Rumour has it she needed a butt double for Captain Marvel.
I don't really like this trend of these tiny women being superheroes. On the one hand you have Scarlett J and Gal Gadot and then you have those SW women who weigh about 50kg between them. Brie Larson is another. She just doesn't look like a superhero. If that's sexist then go fucking replace Hemsworth with that guy from Good Doctor.

@mariner4life I have it on DVD if I could find a way to rip it and upload to you...

I meant his size. His is a big unit now. He looks nothing like he used to.
He's in a tonne of good flicks
He's in good shape at the moment;
Cancer may have a bit to do with that, but he's not big anymore.
I watched him in a play in London, and he was utterly brilliant.

Watching Tombstone on Sky at the moment.
Hasn't aged a day. I forgot how awesome it really is.
I'm your Huckleberry!
it's really very good. Way better than Costner's (which is still pretty good to be fair)
It's hard to believe you're watching Val Kilmer in it
I thought he was pretty good in the Ghost in the darkness , top secret and heat too .
And Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
I think he's an underrated actor given the variety of characters he's played. Meanwhile the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences jerks off to Daniel Day-Lewis playing the same role.
To be fair he was pretty damn good in that same role.
VK was a good actor though. I really quite liked him in Batman. I think he has serious issues. The director of that Batman film described him as being a total nut job or something similar.

Whoah . Looks like you’re right

Captain Marvel: I liked it, it was one of the fun Marvel movies. The de-aging of Jackson and Caulson was really good, they’re definitely improving each time they do it. Not top echelon Marvel but in the middle group and established the character well. Good to see Fury actually have a prominent role in one of them finally.
Brie Larson is naturally hot with big boobs, find it weird people complain about her when a bunch of the Hawt thread was made up of plastic fantastics from Instagram.
@antipodean Scarlett is a midget, she’s much smaller than Larson. But, I do hope they make a Black Widow movie ... it could actually be a pretty (relatively) cheaply made spy thriller. Weird they haven’t already done so.

Yep, I enjoyed Captain Marvel as well. It's pretty fun. A little confusing at first, but comes along nicely. Bit of heart, good humour, and some great comic book visuals.
As with Nepia, sits in that mid-tier, which considering the number and quality of the Marvel movies makes it more than decent.
3.5 NIN t-shirts out of 5 Blockbuster Videos.

It was a hot women thread not a thread about who could play the perfect female super hero. Larson ain't got no back. Nuff said.

As @Nepia has correctly pointed out, I have been pretty slack with my vintage movie genre movie reviews recently, but I'm thinking that this little beauty might make up for it:
What a forgotten classic. Saw this at the movies when it came out. Loved it.

We Die YOung - JCVD in a bit of a different role than you normally expect (or get) from him
He is an Army Vet in the gang run streets just trying to get by.
3.5 wannabe gangbangers out of 5 facial tatts.
Aquaman - decent flick, bit too overly visual though I thought with all the underwater stuff.
3.5 underwater kingdoms out of 5 billion tons of waste dumped on our doorstep

late to this thread but whoever doesn't want to bang the shit out of Brie Larson is an absolute raving homosexual.
Maybe the mute version.
Not from behind either...

Just my pop on Top Gun 2 ...
But if Kilmers in it, I'll see it at the movies, regardless of reviews.
If he's not, I'll watch it later on TV, regardless of reviews.
I'm hoping it's just one big publicity stunt. If it's not, then TG2 is just going to be a Tom Cruise testimonial. If I was Italian, I'd say fuggedaboudid ....

Surprised they haven't signed up Paul Feig and made it an all female cast.
TG is one of my all time favourite movies. Saw it at the cinemas and love revisiting it. Hope they don't shit on it's legacy.
