Ok loooooong looooong way from any AB squad I'll grant you that, but I wouldn't mind another look at Orbyn Leger. Chiefs started him in the aearly rounds but he seems to have lost out to MMac currently.
Debraseenee would be an interesting choice if he could stay unbroken and manage some decent game time.

@Canes4life I don't trust Jordie's decision-making abilities one single bit (for a ten). He's still making many mistakes, and the halves have far less time for decision-making than outside backs, or even midfielders.

You say that as if the other options are any more trustworthy. At least Jordie has plenty of test experience already. I'd far prefer him to the other 10s mentioned in this thread.

FFS is this Jordie guy some kind of superhero or something?
    He's a 12! No he's a 10!
He has been blooded in positions where traditionally errors don't matter too much but good play can shine and even then he has proved fallible in his decision making.
He had a headline making game on the wing against Italy but (I was at the game and watched him off camera) he was out of position quite a bit and DMac spent half the game directing him.

He is undoubtedly a skilled rugby player but give the kid a chance to settle in with some experience before declaring he can fill in in the most critical position in the team.

what's funny is running in a few tries against Italy has allowed people to completely forget that it came only a couple of weeks after one of the worst individual performances i have seen from an AB v Japan. Hilariously inept.

Dude. Lauaki vs Aus 2008. And that game actually meant something.

Obviously I'm a Jordie fan but starting him at 10 seems a tad risky. I think he could be a decent 10 but he needs far more time there. I'm thinking that if we are desperate, and assuming he isn't injured as usual, that maybe Crotty could slot in there.

I reckon Hansen would ask for a special dispensation for one of the offshore 10s - most likely Cruden or Slade (just maybe Danny boy) - whichever is playing better footy. Would we blow our RWC foot off over principles?

But, if Hansen wasn't allowed that - Otere Black.

I actually think the Boy Child (Black) could be ok. He can do the basics well enough and so long as he sticks to what he knows then he could get through a test without fooking up. That's essentially what we'd want, someone who can kick and won't do something stupid.

    Hate to disappoint.

Who would be reserve tighthead prop? Marty Banks?

If DMac's knee is as bad as it looks, the ABs will need to find a new 3rd choice 1st Five.

I think they needed to anyway. DMac at 10 was a disaster this year -- since then they've been much better.

Good for them. But their names in an AB thread does send shivers down the spine....

Now that Dagg has retired, as I mentioned earlier I’d run with TJ Perenara.

Brett Cameron, blame Grant Fox for that one šŸ˜‰

There are rumours that Cruden is moving to Glasgow. Is he off contract, or are Glasgow paying a transfer fee to whoever he plays for these days?

What about Giraffe? He has looked comfortable in almost every other position he has played so it wouldn't be too out of the box to chuck him in there if need be.

He's likely to set a record if he got a game at 10 at the RWC - most intercepts thrown in one match.

His contract with Montpellier runs until June 2020. He's also injured. Again.

    Barrett, Mo'unga, McKenzie

    Then??

The fourth choice is an injury away from going to the RWC.. two injuries away from being on the bench for a knockout game.

    Who is the next option?

    Did you have a premonition?

McKenzie now confrimed as being out of the RWC.

Personally, I'd now be looking seriously at Otere Black.

If we can't get Cruden, then yes to Black. But crikey, even seeing him on the fringe of a squad makes me nervous. Surely we've had our string of 10 injuries in 2011? This can't happen again can it?
