Anti-Hindu comments in particular from BLM activists & Labour Party members.
Are they that fucking thick or is it showing the movement to be the sham it is?

There's been a few articles in the mainstream press (Guardian, Independent) pushing the notion that Asians who emigrated to Africa from India held racist attitudes and were complicit in slavery and "race crimes" and when they emigrated from Africa to the UK they brought their racist attitudes with them.
They are economically successful, hold traditional views, support right-wing economics and hold senior positions in a Tory government. Anathema to many BLM supporters, I'd say.

They have also latched onto some of Gandi's less than favourable comments about black people too.

That made me laugh. It's mostly green.
Not after snow.
Or when frosty.
It still mostly identifies with green. Deep down anyway.

Well he was a racist misogynist. And he was Indian, not English so what's the problem?

Around about 100% she's not! But I can understand you asking that question what with certain practices in the ME throughout the ages.

What did UK-based ferners make of the Chancellor's statement yday? Feels like we are in store for big tax hikes next year. Top rate to 60%? Over the pond, if Biden’s tax plan passes, a self-employed person in California or NYC will have a 66% top marginal rate.

Goes against everything the Tories are about, so I just can't see it happening.
I see a lot of changes to stealth taxes and also a huge reform of the NHS. The whole lot can be avoided if somebody would have the balls to make the NHS partially user pays.

We already have an effective marginal rate of 60% at £100k as the personal allowance gets taken away. Having said that higher rates of personal tax have never been that effective at revenue raising. I agree with @MajorRage that we should expect a rise in stealth taxes. It would be great if Boris’ new deal generates increased tax revenues but that is likely to be a longer game.

Yeah the 120-125 zone is killer. If it wasn't for Brexit, you could be sure as shit that corporate tax would be going up.

Top marginal rate in the UK is already 61% (45% Tax, 2% NI and 14% Employers NI). Higher if you include allowances being cut back once you reach 90K
As a short-term measure, it's OK. But the level of tax increases needed in the future to pay for all the Covid & post GFC spending are going to be eye-watering.
There's also a view that the current overall tax take - 45% - is very near the max an economy can sustain without stifling growth.
Thank heavens our political class is so honest with the voters...
