James Blunt is a considerably better comedian than he is a musician. Certainly not too late to change careers.
He's too busy hanging in Ibiza with his supermodel partner
yeah...but some anonymous blokes on a rugby forum are throwing some shade at his music...so...cop that James Blunt

"Liberals" like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell have now become wannabe suppressors of free speech. Hilarious.
Nope. He can still talk. They're using their free rights to move their songs to another distributor.
Interestingly, the UK (and the EU, I think) are looking at legislation to stop commercial interests and coercion being used to curtail freedom of expression/speech.
Anyway, I think this is less to do with issues of freedom of speech and allegedly fighting disinformation but more about losing money if people switched off Spotify as they disagreed with Rogan's podcast.
If they were genuine, Mitchell & Young would have threatened to pull their stuff when Clapton did his anti-vax thing.
Were Clapton's anti-vax views aired on Spotify?

Geez, why'd you have to single me out like that? Harsh.

I'm starting to think if you look under every controversy rock you find a venture capital firm.
Young sold half his music to hipgnosis for 50 million. What chance that hypocritical Neil is a puppet with strings being pulled by others?
Wouldn't be the first celebrity or entertainer serving his master, and looking like a pratt in the process.
Carlos Blackstone, remember the name 🙂

@victor-meldrew he was also on this podcast in November 21

Something I heard the other day, which may be complete BS, was that Rogan's audience approximately halved when he went exclusively on Spotify, so kicking him off might increase his the size of his platform.
Can't see that trying to de-platform him that way would have any effect that advocates hope for.

Lose half your audience, gain 100mill.
Not exactly a tough decision!!

@majorrage Yep, definitely better conversion rates ...
BTW, podcasts are surely due for a regulatory smackdown soon. Cum Town and Legion of Skanks can't be advertising pharmaceuticals and drugs forever ...
I actually don't listen to podcasts. Never really had the desire to listen to other people speak / share their views for any longer time than your average TV interview of 5-10 mins. I've made two exceptions for this
-
Rogan with Lance Armstrong. Found this very compelling as Rogan gave him the time of day & almost supported Armstrong in all he did to understand his thought process.
-
Malcolm Gladwell on the Toyota stuck accelerator scandal. Had to as we had a huge position in Toyota at work so needed to understand it more.
It's not for me.
