Boiling Point
Single take movie, pretty uncomfortable viewing, wife hated it, I loved it.
4.5 contaminated oysters out of 5 substance addictions
Well made but bleak
Not for me either
The Bear (tv series) is much better

Oh, so very very bleak!!!
Fucking depressing really.
Made me feel heaps better about my own life 😬

@MiketheSnow and just on The Bear, I'm dead keen to watch this. I absolutely love restaurant movies, kind of a weird obsession (100 foot journey, chef, spanglish, burnt, ratatouille, love them all, seen them all 5x times each)
Bear starts in Oz in a couple of days

Prey
Watching it right now, very enjoyable
##spoiler
the predator is a pussy though, the brother/war chief dude starts kicking his arse so he goes invisible and sneaks up behind him, no honour
##endspoilerSeen fan calls for a series of these throughout time, feudal Japan, medieval Europe, think I’d be down for all of them
Perhaps he was…..
##spoiler
….still weak from his fight with the bear and being shot ?

Watching Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan. Simply a bloody great movie - no more be said.
9 Bad Klingon Haircuts out of 10 Federation-issue loon pants.

Yes but I think Ricardo Montalban stole that movie.

Thirteen Lives
On Amazon Prime, the story of the rescue of the Thai soccer team in the cave.
Rin Howard is a masterful story teller.
On my list.
Listened to podcast on Conversations on ABC with the Aussie Doctor/cave diver who was one of the principal movers and shakers in the rescue. Was one of the most remarkable 40mins of audio I've ever listened to. No hype. No drama.
And I understand this story follows it pretty closely.

Fall
Two women climb a 2000ft radio tower and get stuck.
Very weak writing and character development, ably matched by the acting. Obvious plot "twist" complemented by a shit ending. Tit watch: Cleavage only. Goes for too long and ignores both common sense and physics too much to be believable. As a result you don't invest in the outcome.
Positives: The cinematography and VFX are excellent. If you suffer from a fear of heights, this will get your pulse elevated.
If you like b-grade movies on wet afternoons, give it a try. You can wander off to grab more beer and snacks without pausing it.

@antipodean had to watch the trailer after that, ive worked high rise construction before so generally find extreme heights manageable...but even the trailer made that look pretty real, i see what you mean about the VFX
-
@antipodean ha I watched the trailer for that last week and did wonder how they would make a movie last however long they would, and maintain interest...but the height stuff gave butterflies
