Watching Star Trek II - The Wrath of Khan. Simply a bloody great movie - no more be said.

Yes but I think Ricardo Montalban stole that movie.

Thirteen Lives
On Amazon Prime, the story of the rescue of the Thai soccer team in the cave.
Rin Howard is a masterful story teller.
On my list.
Listened to podcast on Conversations on ABC with the Aussie Doctor/cave diver who was one of the principal movers and shakers in the rescue. Was one of the most remarkable 40mins of audio I've ever listened to. No hype. No drama.
And I understand this story follows it pretty closely.

Fall
Two women climb a 2000ft radio tower and get stuck.
Very weak writing and character development, ably matched by the acting. Obvious plot "twist" complemented by a shit ending. Tit watch: Cleavage only. Goes for too long and ignores both common sense and physics too much to be believable. As a result you don't invest in the outcome.
Positives: The cinematography and VFX are excellent. If you suffer from a fear of heights, this will get your pulse elevated.
If you like b-grade movies on wet afternoons, give it a try. You can wander off to grab more beer and snacks without pausing it.
-
@antipodean had to watch the trailer after that, ive worked high rise construction before so generally find extreme heights manageable...but even the trailer made that look pretty real, i see what you mean about the VFX
-
@antipodean ha I watched the trailer for that last week and did wonder how they would make a movie last however long they would, and maintain interest...but the height stuff gave butterflies
-
@antipodean so making a synopsis of your synopsis
women climb a pole and get stuck. Men no pause
sounds like they got what they deserved.
yes it should be in bad/lame joke thread and I will get my coat

actually starting to look pretty good, within the realms of action/superhero film
will be interesting how theyre going to explain away the existence of several superheros and the justice society in the same universe as the justice league that only just scrounged up enough members to beat the last dude...my money is on them just ignoring it
its a weird metric and probably not founded in anything but i find it a good sign that a lot of it is set during the day, i find these heavy CGI films cheap out sometimes by doing all the action at night so they dont have to as much detail, just hide it in shadows

Given that Henry Cavil and Ben Afflick both are in the "cast" line up on various websites and in fact, Henry and Ben are given second and third billing after the Rock on some that I've seen, I'd say that the movie likely makes an effort to explain.
Or if they take your way out, simply put the timeline of Black Adam's return to Earth post anything that occurred in the various, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Justice league movies.
BTW, saw the trailer for this at the cinema when watching Thor, Love and Thunder, and damn, I thought it looked good for a superhero movie, especially for a DC movie.
Edit, looking at IMDB (where I probably should have looked first) looks like both Henry and Ben don't appear as they aren't showing up in the full cast list there so... looks like option 2 and I'll chuck my money in with yours @Kiwiwomble

Ambulance
I was trawling the waters of the Bay of Pirates, saw this, researched it, and decided it was too shit to watch.
"A guy who doesn't want to be a bad guy, gets trapped into being the getaway driver for a Bank Heist, in an anbulance. Action ensues"
Assumed it was a shit B/C-grade movie... not something I'd typically watch. Didn't bother downloading.
Then, somehow, can't remember how - discovered it was a Michael Bay production.
At which point...- Yeah, okay, I can go into this piece of shit, knowing it's going to be a Michael Bay piece of shit
- Kinda like, ah... fuck it, yeah, I'll take this trashy blonde home, knowing it's a guaranteed blow-job
- That blow-job being filled with lens flares
- And.. yeah.. exactly as expected
- Tit-watch: zero
- Attempts at replicating classic movie scenes (in this case: Heat) - but fucking it up - tick
- Nonsensical points of plot - tick
- Fun - yeah, sure, it's fucking Michael Bay, Blues-Brothers-esque police-car crashes - tick
- Did I mention nonsensical plot? - if not - double fucking tick
I've been belatedly playing GTA 3(s) recently... and this reminded me SO many times of that.
- Oh, and did I mention that Michael Bay has discovered drones? And guess what he does with THAT fucking technology... spoiler... using it a fucking LOT... typically starting from the tops of buildings, dropping down the sides of said buildings, to then start tracking the actual action. Fucking hack.
3 "ha-that-looks-like-it-is-a-shit-Heat" out of 5 "ha-that-looks-like-it-is-from-San-Andreas"... 's.
