@MN5 yeah Dogs of War is a definite swerve unless you're @Tim.

Not a glowing recommendation. Formulaic bargain bin "straight to DVD" as we used to say.

Still better than over 90% of the slop that is released now.

That sounds over the top but it’s possibly accurate. Good grief there is some absolute shit on Neon and Netflix

    This.

I made the mistake of watching Warrant on Netflix last night. A post civil war western with Neil Mc Donough, who is usually pretty good. By the cringe it was awful. Wooden acting, nonsensical dialogue, cliches by the million, appalling writing and pathetic plot.

    Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

I assume (hope) you're not talking about the classic 80s movie with Christopher Walken?

Or War Dogs, which was great and featured Ana De Armas for the first time that I can recall

Steve McQueen's (the director, not the dead actor) Blitz

Allegedly the stories of a group of Londoners during the German bombing campaign of the British capital during World War II. Liked the way it didn't sugarcoat how people acted during the blitz (crime tripled and people were really, really nasty to each other at times) and the real personal problems people faced working in factories and with their children being evacuated.

Have zero problem with colour-blind casting and the use of a mixed-race kid as an outsider centre point is inspired, but it's almost as McQueen just couldn't resist the temptation to show his anti-racist progressive credentials in this film. All the black protagonists and lead females are invariably portrayed as noble while the less pleasant characters are always male and white.. It's the sort of thing which would appeal to a Guardian film critic but in reality makes the film deeply flawed.

In many ways a great film, in others an absolute mess of a film.

@Bones was a lot of fun, the only thing i didn't like was using it to introduce or explain stuff in the wider MCU, should have kept them as these mad capped side quests

its really interesting, logan is often considered one of if not THE best marvel film and it properly ended...and yet they seem to not have batted an eyelid at making a mockery of it

the call backs and how it was handled was superb.
Hugh Jackman really is a beast, loved the 4th wall jokes.. The 'he's normally shirtless but let himself go since the divorce'' especially.

Don't know quite where to put this, but I'll stick it here:

"Blazing Saddles truly pulled no punches with either its satire of prejudice or its raunchier moments, but there was one joke Brooks pulled at the last minute."

"When Lili Von Shtupp (Madeline Kahn) character seduces Bart the sheriff (Cleavon Little) in the dark, Von Shtupp asks Bart if a certain size-related stereotype is actually true. A confused Bart responds, "I hate to disillusion you, ma'am, but you're sucking on my arm."
