Not a defence. He barely left the ground

Okay. That shouldn't be a red. Intent should count.

What? He didn't intend to be a fucking idiot? Too stupid to know what he was doing?

    Calm the fuck down.

Eyes on the ball. Gets a shoulder from ioane just before contact. Bangs in to a guy who jumps. Never grabs. Doesn't run through him. Yellow all day. But i think a red needs a higher threshold.

I remember Naholo doing that in a game a couple of years ago. He should have seen red too

A shame tbh but it is a red unfortunately.

Bloody hell, this isn’t going to help with trying systems before the RC.

Rules are rules, but I do feel a bit sorry for the Frenchy that got the red card.

He was reckless, yes, but (bad) luck played a part. If Barrett lands a bit better it’s only yellow.

However he shouldn’t have put himself in the position where the ref was forced to make a decision.

How fucking poor was Parra as he watched a bloody front rower run around him.
    White flag up already?

I respectfully disagree. That was incredibly dangerous. He was never going to get that ball. He barely left the ground ffs. Clear red all day.

Yeah, under current laws it's red all day. And ignorance of the laws is not a defense. Ref had no choice, just a really dumb play.

Eyes on the ball ? So what? Just watching a ball doesn't mean you are seriously trying to catch it. The rules are clear. And they are there for a bloody good reason.

Yep. The Walrus will be choking on his cornflakes over that one.

@rancid-schnitzel all about technique - trouble is if you don’t leave the ground you will end up running into the feet of the guy that does. So you must leave the ground or clear the space.

Outcome was dangerous. But i think the player needs to have some intent to injure before a red becomes an option.

I am aware i am in disagreement with the laws here, and it's just an opinion.

I don't like that the same action gets a different card if barrett doesnt land on his head.

Intention and the result are two different things. That challenge was reckless and dangerous. Just because BB wasn't seriously hurt doesn't make it any less serious
