xpecting the original $590 service + $120 throttle body clean. Whole service was only $615,

And I've just remembered that the service included a 4 wheel rotate and balance quoted at $35 so I'm technically ahead.

Took my Yeti in for a service 2 years ago at the Main Dealer. Fluffybunnies told me I needed a new locking nut set as they couldn't find the one in the Asked them to check and was told it was definitely missing. Paid for a new locking nut set @ £80.

Pick up the car to find the new locking nut in it's green plastic box on the front seat. Went to put it back in the spare wheel compartment and, bugger me, the original was was there. Rather than apologise, the fluffybunnies ignored my emails and then tried to argue they had checked, it wasn't there and initially refused to refund the money. Had to threaten a Small Claims action with attendent publicity to get the money back.

Are the Skoda dealers as bad as the Volk. dealers? I heard bad things about the latter.

The Skoda Yeti was a funky little car!

The latest thing to piss me off is my smart watch. The fuckers have updated the bloody thing so now I have to learn how to save my run all over again. What was once something I could do without any thought I have to now piss around working out how to do it.

Why the hell do IT people have to mess around changing things? We get it all the time at work and it's infuriates me. What was once a simple task becomes a pain in the arse, especially when you are a couple of hours into overtime, you are tired and you want to go home. It stops me wanting to work because learning computer shit is stressful.

    Even IT people have managers...

    And shareholders to answer to.

It's still bloody annoying no matter who is responsible for the change. I go into a programme knowing where certain functions are, or what is necessary to perform a certain action and I find things have been changed - it is fucking annoying. I have to piss around trying how to work out how to do something again. A job that may only take a few minutes turns into something a lot longer and my day has been ruined because I am fuming. I try not to fume but I am failing miserably at that. For someone that is challenged when it comes to all things computers it is not fun.

Fucking Car Dealerships - service team specifically.

Wife bought a 2019 Kia Cerato. Good value for $26k with bells and whistles etc. "Capped price servicing" as advertised. Firstly, it is $590 or thereabouts, which is taking the piss.

An hour after I drop it off they call Mrs TA who passes the phone to me. They want to inspect and clean the throttle body for $120.

Me: "Isn't that part of the service schedule?"
Them: "No but we recommend it after 35,000km"
Me: "The car has done less than 30,000km"
    Them: " ... "
Me: " ... look do it if you think it needs doing and I'll look into it after I pick it up " (Mrs TA signalling I shouldn't be too aggressive with them).

Another hour passes and the old "Your rear wiper needs replacing" so Mrs TA passes the phone to me
Me: "Oh yeah? I used it this morning and it seemed fine. How much?"
    Them: "$71"
Me, no longer able to hold back my disdain: "Mate you are kidding yourself if you think I'm paying you seventy bucks for something I can do in 5 minutes with a part from Supercheap. Not a chance." (Mrs TA looking upset that I've done my rag at these gouging fluffybunnies).

Went in and picked up the car, expecting the original $590 service + $120 throttle body clean. Whole service was only $615, which is still a fucking ripoff, but it wasn't going to end well if they reached for $700. It was a very quick, very quiet handover.

I was relaying this story to a work colleague today, who mentioned their mum has the same model Kia. She got the same bullshit about throttle body and wiper blades.

So I'm off to write some Google and FB reviews.

I bought the same car new this year. Looking forward to that upcoming level of service

Take it back to the dealer for the first two services. When they ring about the throttle body clean, you can say "Ah yes, a mate of mine said you'd do this. I've got the Ombudsman on speed dial for just such an occasion!"

I've already had the first free one at 3kms - the dealer is in the Hunter Valley so I won't be going there! Will update you in 6 months...and will be sure to reference you!

At that age/use of a new vehicle a throttle body clean is about a 10 minute job at most.
Bastards have you over a barrel and don't seem to be using lube.

I don't even bother on my old vehicles. Just reset the throttle body ECM (usually a sequence of starter push and accelerator hold down) and any roughness/delay disappears.

OK. Bought and installed a new and moderately expensive kitchen tap just over a year ago. Last week the valve went faulty and, as you would expect, it's a non-standard valve.

Ring up the manufacturer/supplier to order a new one and complain loudly and get told it's covered by their 10 year guarantee. While on the phone, I send them my invoice and they email back seconds later with details of the replacement valves they are sending me, together with a tracking number for 24hr delivery.

As a GOM, I now feel dirty.

@Victor-Meldrew they don't make taps like they used too, now they just rely on cheap replacement parts instead of making it last. GOM restored.

I hate it when you’re all itching for a fight and fluffybunnies do the right thing and actually provide outstanding customer service.

Thank god I have a punching bag.

@MN5 I had that when a TV shat itself years back...repairer couldnt tell me why it failed, it was actually 6 months outside its 24 month warranty.

I rang Panasonic, ready for a scrap, they put me on hold, called the repairer to find to the issue, came back on and said they'd be sending me a new TV, and as my one was obsolete, it would be the new version, had it the next day!
