No surprise the sellers are both realestate agents themselves ( well that's what the interweb told me)
Simple economics isn't it, if something isn't selling your probably about 99% likely to be asking too much!
Selling a lifestyle block will always be a hard sell compared to a town house or typical property.
Some people like to own more land where as some can't be arsed with the upkeep.
There's simply a smaller range of perspective buyers out there, you probably have to ask less especially given it's location
I'm sure if that was in South Auckland it would be snapped up in no time -
@taniwharugby I'm guessing the irony of her selling the place is beyond her...
-
@Virgil are a lot of Auckland buyers coming up this way (unfortunately
)
Plenty of people in the market up here that have made $$$ out of the booms, first one in the early 00's and again in recent years who have the money to pay for it.
When we were selling our place 4 years ago it was amazing to see the difference in quality of home (maintenance, upgrading etc)
We would be looking at places in our price bracket and think, man that place is in shit condition compared to ours but selling for $50k+ more...guess that's why ours sold in 7 days.

@mariner4life I assumed the extra one was one a week for 52 weeks plus birthday? I'm sure at some points in my life I had those numbers but whos been taking up the slack and keeping the average up since then on my behalf?
Also I was thinking about this...I mean discussing it with a friend and was wondering ...I mean he was wondering how many there'd actually be if you took nine off the years total?
It's ok boys. Think positive and show the Mrs this, it's on the interweb so definitely true.

There. Fixed.
Estate agents not selling their own houses does happen. Locally here some idiot failed to sell his property twice despite getting the asking price both times. Seems he felt that as the asking price had been met he'd undervalued the place so he upped the ante. As it happens he was wrong.
Twat.
-
When estate agents do sell their own property it typically takes longer. Because their end is no longer just the commission so they tend to wait for the full asking price.
When they are on the commission side they want to be flipping houses as fast as possible so they tend to be more realistic with their valuations and spend more time convincing the owners to accept offers under the asking.
I think Malcolm Gladwell did a piece on it.

Soo AUT has created 165 "All-Gender" bathrooms. To apparently make all students feel safe when using the bathroom regardless of gender.
Nice and dishonest about it too which is not surprising. Apparently being attacked verbally or physically is really common for transgender students when using the bathroom. I had no idea AUT had such a bad problem with students being assaulted when trying to take a piss......
They've also tried to claim that most of these 165 bathrooms are self-contained mobility bathrooms. So I know people that go to AUT and what they've actually done is convert a bunch of female toilets to "all-gender" toilets. They've left the male toilets alone. This to make going to the toilet "safe for all students". Let the stupidity of that sink in for a second. Females that used to have a safe environment to go an do their business now see an "all-gender" sign on the door and think "fuck that there's probably guys in there now, I'll have to find somewhere else to go".
Not to mention the disabled toilets, specially designed for people with disabilities, will now have queues as anybody can suddenly freely use them. But fuck disabled people, it's those "gender-fluid" people that we really care about!
I am getting pretty sick of this ridiculous debate on gender. This is some next level virtue signalling from AUT, "fixing" a problem that doesn't exist in an effort to look morally superior. With real consequences for their female students, you know, the people that make up more than half of their population, as well as disabled students.
Honestly people can "identify" as a fucking cat for all I care, but that doesn't make them a cat, and when it comes to things like bathrooms, or that little thing called the law, they won't be seen as a cat, they'll be seen as a male or female human being. And rightly so. AUT can get fucked.
-
Yeah it is ridiculous. However I'm a lot more comfortable with an organisation choosing to do this rather than being compelled to by the government (some well meaning busy body politician will suggest a 'solution' soon enough)
AUT competes in a market for students. Hopefully students notice the admin priorities and consider taking their fees elsewhere

The initial comments are quite entertaining @jegga think she burnt a few bridges with her comments in the past.

Surely if they just painted the disabled toilets to make the point it would serve the purpose? They are usually standalone one off setups anyway. I don't buy into the case for having them 'disabled only'. The point of them is that they are accessible and set up for disabled not that they are to stand there not being used until the proportionately small part of that population that requires them can use them without waiting.
You then still get a 'safe space' for men and women and a space that everyone can use without fear.(unless of course a certain AB is around and taking his time finishing of some chick at which point you can record the event and tell the papers)

@No-Quarter just had a look, yeah she made a fool of herself and it won't be forgotten for a while I expect.

Very tough to tell what sex the person in the picture is too. A heinous minga or a slightly effeminate looking fat fluffybunny? Marketing genius right there.
