Yeah, I really enjoyed Eye in the Sky, and the other drone movie that was out that same year? Good Kill I think? Different movie styles but both decent. Rickman was a great actor.
A brilliant last on-screen scene by Rickman in this movie.

Wind River with Jeremy Renner. From the same director that brought you Sicario which I also liked.
IMDB calls it a Crime, Drama, Mystery Not huge on the mystery component really as it becomes obvious, but beautiful scenery and very good acting/ direction/ pacing. Will watch again.
Four acts of redemption out of five dead bodies.

Nope. Same screenwriter. He directed this and it was dire. Sample dialogue:
You're looking for clues but you're missing the signs.
Awful.

Garbage movie with annoying characters, stupid plotting, contrived drama, and a completely unbelievable premise.
They would've fired the missile in the first minute of the film without blinking an eye.

Valerian And The Ci- nope fuck it
The title is too long. The movie was too long to stretch out such banality.
I watched it because I wanted to watch it, and believed it would defy the critics, and be as awesome a movie as it's visual effects.
I was sad and frustrated by the end. There were moments of awesome, but so many more moments of "fucking WHY, Luc?"
I've got the comic on which is largely based (Ambassador of The Shadows) and they fucked with it a lot, putting an Avatar-inspired alien setup.
The extra dimensional stuff and tech ideas were awesome but the chemistry between the main characters was shit. Dane de Haan was shit. Cara Delevingne was nice to look at, but has zero acting charisma.
Just fucked.

CHAPPiE
Really liked this. Maybe could have done without being a vehicle for Die Antwoord but I think they did a fairly good job.
Jackman was a bit hammy, and also the guy playing Deon at points, but The robot with was fucking excellent, as was using Sharlto Copley as the voice.
3 Ninjas out of 5 Hippos

Spider-Man Homecoming.
Liked this, not normally a Spider-Man fan (movies haven't been great) but thought the touches of humor worked well.
thought he was able to shoot web without any assistance?
was odd with Marisa Tomei as Aunt. May, just didn't seem right.

He makes his webshooters in the comics, Rami was the one who changed that for his movies.
Tomei is in her early 50s, so is the right age for the part. Pretty awesome genes

Now. I'm something of a Matt Damon fan, especially with his action flicks, so was looking forward to The Great Wall. What can I say but AVOID. It is a steaming pile of Barry White. Yes it is a fantasy flick but the story is all over the place. The dialogue is stilted to the extent that you sometimes wonder if the actors are actually talking to each other. The CGI monsters are just ludicrous and Willem Dafoe is selling more ham than Sainsbury's.
I couldn't see the whole thing through.
1 slice of rancid ham out of 5 blown anticipations.
Shocking.

Watched "Life" last night. Trailer looked good. Cast was great. Alien horror film? Love them.
This was a bit shit. They basically made Alien, but without the tension. Seriously, half a dozen people are trapped in a space station with an unknown life form that is actively trying to kill them, and i was bored? How do you fuck that up?
The fact they gave the alien the ability to do pretty much what ever was required of it at the time sort of fucked the whole thing up. And who new space stations were so easy to get in and out of?
As for the ending...

@mariner4life haha yep, an alien piece of gum!

Yeah I watched that and even the mrs noticed it was a lame Alien rip off full of some of the most retarded characters ever.
I also watched 'The Warrior's' last night. ( 70s gang movie not the shitty loigue team ). Dated and full of bad acting but still pretty entertaining. Why didn't they a) steal a couple of cars and/or b ) take their fucken vests off ?

Watched The Light Between Oceans the other night. Pretty intensely emotional movie, thought it was really well done. I'm told not as good as the book, but movies never are. It hit a bit close to home for the better half so she struggled with it a bit (emotionally).
