They have been at the heart of nearly every onfield and off field drama the last few years. They attract zero sympathy from anyone else.
Trawl through all the articles written about the issues on this tour and a large number are basically about sticking in the boot.
They have pissed off a lot of cricket fans for a while now. It’s their chance to kick them while they are down.A point well made in this article.

It reads like we were playing to the rules as dictated by the home side and administered by the umpires. Doesn't make it right of course....

Doull suggested allowing ball tampering as long as the players don't use anything artificial, I.E. fingernails etc only. And also enforcing a new ball every 60 overs.
Wasn't quite sure what to make of that. Would be a dramatic change to test cricket, probably too bigger change.

Context always plays a part. “Everyone was doing it/if you can’t beat them join them” isn’t much of a defence, but it was of the time and place. 2018, arguably much less so.
People wanting to “ban them for life” need to think again, but I don’t think Mike Atherton or Chris Pringle back in the day should necessarily stop the rest of us having a laugh and a wry smile at the latest dramas from the team that always plays hard but fair, and knows where the line is...

How long go was that? Yeah really awkward ...
Was flatting with a bloke at Uni who went to school with Parore. This bloke was pretty good age grade cricketer. AGS 1st XI. Played first grade club stuff in Akl. Hawke Cup level for Counties so knew people.
That Pringle story was well known. The story went that this was pretty much the only time it worked. NZ's bowlers just weren't as quick as Waqar and Wasim who did the same shit ALL the time, but got late swing due to their extra pace .... alledgedly ... err ... hypothetically ...

And as the game wore on, Pringle became deliberately obvious in an attempt to get a reaction, even gouging the ball as he talked to the umpire. Still nothing was said. So eagerly was he vandalizing the ball that at one stage he cut himself on the jagged bottle top.

The biggest lynch mob will be the Australian public. Just wait and see. This bunch of Aus cricketers just aren't very well liked and no one will have a problem sticking the boot in. Seems like even the PM will go after them to get some brownie points.
It's all about goodwill. The Aus cricket team have zero. Including in Australia.

I don't remember the Windies moving the ball around that much, but I was a young lad then. I just remember them thundering in like giants, that would have been real fear for self facing Ambrose, Marshall, and all the others in full flight
