Girl - we're looking for Beavers.
Redneck - Well, hell, ain't we all!So many great beaver jokes in that film .
It’s worth watching at a double feature with Killer Lampreys, it’s got stars like Shannon Doherty in itAny tits?
Sideboob and butt , killer lampreys and zombeavers make up the slack .

The Humanity Bureau! Featuring Nic Cage.
Please take the time to watch this! It is incredibly bad. I’m half way through and can’t stop as I have to see how they end this!
0 radioactive carrots out of 5 undricnkable ice cubes
I have to admit I do sometimes enjoy watching an awful movie just so I can whinge at how bad it is.
The Room. You have to watch The Room. You will not regret it

Ok but I'm watching Showgirls again first.
How Good was this back in the day when googling nudes was still a distant dream....

In Dark Places. The Teina Pora story.
Fark. Just faaaaarrrrrkkkk.
No idea what angle that takes but I do have a brother in law who’s a cop ( detective actually)
Pora isn’t this innocent, poorly treated wronged person the media has made him out to be. -

Well in the case of the Susan Burdett murder that’s exactly what he is (innocent, poorly treated, wronged)
-
@sammyc Exactly. I don't think anyone is saying he was a choirboy. But he was falsely convicted of the burglary, rape, and murder of Susan Burdett with no dna evidence and the testimony of a grubby aunt, then an even grubbier prison narc, and an extremely dodgy police interview where it was quite clear Pora had no idea of the facts.

@canefan I think more a commentary that he had history as a bad egg, rather than him actually being guilty.
Right. No one in that position is squeaky clean. Just that he didn't do that crime?

Yeah the same as David Doherty , who admitted he was a career criminal but didn’t do the crime he was sent away for.

How it ends. Apocalyptic movie with father and prospective son-in-law battling their way across the country to save the daughter/ fiancee. It's a bit long and there's the required "as if" moments, but it moves along and fills up the time.
If you've got two hours and want to be mindlessly entertained, watch it.
Watched this last night, agree was pretty decent. End was weak, but otherwise decent.
-
Extinction on Netflix. Good concept horribly executed. And another great example of why children in survival situations should be the first to go. Making noise and running off exposing everyone else to needless danger.
Don't bother.

Obviously, I haven't seen the movie referred to but from previous docos on TV no one has glossed over the fact that he wasn't a totally innocent citizen, just that he was innocent of murder. In fact it was key to the narrative that the police used his background to pin the murder on him (particularly gang affiliation) and ignored other facts.
It will always be an issue with police investigations that they get diverted by bias such as that mentioned by Virgil above. -
Did a bit of flying and caught up with some movies.
Black Panther - I enjoyed it but glad I was pre-aware that it had been massively overhyped. 3.5 ethno-states out of 5.
3 Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri - Gripping but it seemed a little far fetched which kind of tempered my enjoyment for some reason..you know for a movie that was kinda realistic rather than a straight up fantasy. 3.5 midget dates outta 5.
Avengers (new one..) - Waaaay better than the last Avengers, time seemed to fly by. 4 outta 5 infinity stones.
I also re-watched 'Fight Club' which I hadn't seen in a number of years. I was a little nervous about doing it as a number of older movies haven't lived up to my memories of late. Well I needn't have been. Solid 5 punches in the ear outta 5. Easily my favourite movie of all time.

I reckon Fight Club is one of THE most overrated movies of our times. It's ok but no more than that.
How did you think 3 billboards was far fetched?
