China has become a huge earner in the last couple of years, they are probably personally responsible for the continuation of the wonderful and awesome Transformer franchise.

Last i read SW has broken some 45 Box Office records, its nuts.
-

You can see all their number 1s here:

What actually did surprise me is that it got a bunch of adjusted records as well (still behind the original for adjusted box office though).
-

Some of those records are cool (or boring as bat shit of your not into stats)

Looking at consecutive weeks at #1. Tootsie in 1982 spent 13 weeks straight at number 1, Tootsie!

On the other hand Porky's spent 8 weeks at #1...
-

Can often be a factor of what else is showing at the time.

But in this case... no. Though many other execs, knowing that this was coming, would have held off on their shit.
-

I got married in the same resort that was filmed in. The line in the movie where he yells at the couple getting married in Hawaii being soooo original had me cringing, after being happy to see the place :)

Seriously though, every scene was somewhere that looked familiar - even had where we actually got married. -

Pan - the Hugh Jackman vehicle which was widely .... wait for it ... panned.

And so it should be. Was visually nice, but dithered and fluttered around like a drunken butterfly. The kids just couldn't act and Garrett Hedlund was shit. Jackman had some moments of delivery that were good, but overall I was glad this was an AppleTV rent and not a movie experience.
-

Watched The Revenant last night. Was good, without being awesome. The cinematography will likely win an Oscar and deservedly so and Leo, Hardy, Gleeson and the guy from Son of Rambo were all pretty good.

Had some dream sequences I thought could have been a bit shorter.
-

Yeah I went to see it and also thought it was a bit average, and too long, wonder if it is more a 'legend' than based on true fact ;)

Also saw Legend, with Hardy as well, who I thought was very good again, decent movie.
-
The 2nd Avengers movie isnt nearly as good as the original, no doubt mostly due to the whole 'its so fucken cool all the avengers are together in one movie' vibe.

It may sound ironic for someone as into Star Wars as I am but due to the whole implausibility of everything I find Superhero movies fucken boring. The only two I do like are Iron Man and Batman ( obviously I dig flawed billionaire playboys who moonlight as Vigilantes ) but the likes of the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Superman, Spider-Man and all of the others simply bore me to fucken tears. I really enjoyed the first Iron Man ( the intro with RDJ rocking out to ACDC was such a great set up ) and Christian Bale was terrific as Batman ( Ben Affleck taking over will ensure I don't watch anymore however ) but I sat through the whole Avengers movies somehow and actually fell asleep when that big airship in the sky was being attacked. -

Tom Cruise was pretty funny. Also Catherine Zeta Jones dressed up in a leather at the end .

I actually sat through love actually , the guy from walking deads part was pretty creepy especially considering it was his best friends mrs, Alan RIckmans bit was sad not funny and the bit with Hugh Grant was shit for two reasons- it had Huhh Grant in it and had a sanctimonious anti American tirade .

Holy shit! The wife watches that film at least twice every Christmas and it never registered that that ridiculous nancy boy is zombie killer Rick.

Generally romcoms make me sick but Notting Hill is pretty damn good. -
Funniest character in that flick is the washed up rock star. Liam Neeson was obviously in an awkward post Schindler pre ass kicking action star phase in his career..... -

I am the opposite, never seen a batman film I liked.
-

I like the first one, with Michael Keaton. I watched it the other day, it's a great comic book movie.
