Advice: I am seriously considering buy a Harley Davidson

<p>Go for it Raz</p>

<p>I'm not a biker but lots of my family are and they love it. Glassed over eyes when trying to explain that all life's troubles melt away when on the bike - pure bliss they say</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Is it feasible to hire for a bit to see if it sticks?</p> -

<p>do it.. couple of my mates have harleys.. one wrote off his first one pretty quickly and avoided a new one for a couple of years (then hid new purchase at workshop from wife for 6 months)..</p>
<p> </p>
<p>other mate sounds exactly like you. He's had this about 4 months now and loves it, rides it to work etc. Nice bike, and not a w@nky 'look at me' harley. he test rode about a million different bike styles, changed his mind a hundred times and always came back to what he wanted. test drove the one below and it was the one for him.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>has a trail / crossover bike as his daily ride, sold his jetski to fund this...</p>

<p>and found a pic of other mates bike... a lot louder. just like him ha</p>

<p>I've got two mates with these, they love them but they're aren't the boulevard cruiser sort of harley you want I guess.</p>

Seriously.<br><br>
I was impressed.<br><br>
The low centre of gravity on the Buell, especially the rare Carbon Fiber Edition can make it a formidable opponent in the curves.<br><br>
I was so pissed, I took my mountain bike home and went looking for the dude on my motorcycle, but he was gone by the time I got back there.</blockquote> -

<p>I'm not a biker (yet) but if I was, this is the exact bike I would get. Absolutely love the stance of it. Sensational.</p> -
<p>With all the stuff around my solar/battery system, I googled "electric motorbike" thinking there'd be a few dud machines out there for hipsters.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Instead I found this:</p>
<p> </p>
<p><a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/au/'>http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/au/</a></p>
<p> </p>
<p>And this review:</p>

<p> </p>
<p>Never, EVER going to tour on one of those things, given the charging times, but jeez the potential is big as the tech advances.</p> -
Pussy, a real anteater would have just gone out and bought one by now!
-
<p>I think to many people are retards... ans even more so behind the wheel. I dont like putting my life in thier hands any more than I have to. Not much use your final thoughts as you get killed being 'it wasnt my fault!!'</p>

<p>Are you my WT cousin? She puts about 15 posts per day on FB (no exaggeration) of this sort of shit about motorbike riders. For the most part I ignore it, but every now and again I bite on the posts which say they are better parents as their kids ride motorbikes.</p> -
@raznomore did you end up getting a bike?
6 months ago I jumped back into the saddle after 15 years on the sideline and I am loving every minute of it. I can’t believe I left it so long to get back on. Mrs Crazy Horse is a convert and we get away as often as we can.
As I clock up the miles around South East Queensland and Northern NSW the memories flood back. The way you can go from breathing in the aromas of blossoming flowers to holding your breath as you try not to inhale roadkill. The pure joy of being at one with the bike gliding through twisties. The intense concentration when you get in the zone. The constant wrist pain and the body stiffness after hours in the seat. The cold beer after a hard days ride. The easy conversation you always seem to strike up with other bikers.
After six months riding my Blackbird I traded her in two days ago for a more comfortable bike. The sore wrists and the stiff suspension got to me in the end. It is funny how one can become so attached. There was almost a tear in my eye as I dismounted from her the final time. I felt guilt as I parked her next to my new ride. I said goodbye and thanked her for a wonderful six months. I didn’t look back as I rode away on my new flame.
I always felt the Blackbird was a little disappointed in me. It always seemed like she was begging me to ride her harder. Hopefully she will go to a new home with a rider who will give her what she desires...
