@booboo no nothing at all. nothing formed, not even a watch. It's fuuuucking hot up here though, so there is still a chance of a late one like last year.

Gita was a complete non entity which is disappointing. I love a good cyclone.

We got 200mm in 12 hours griday night. Certainly tested the new stormwater system. It failed in a couple of places.

Spent yesterday digging. Digging is shit.

Busy night here, fence blown over on one side. Gate on the other where the family rabbit is kept, so that resulted in a very dangerous rescue mission.
No power either at home or work ( where I currently am)
Going to be a great day.

in Auckland, a neighbour's tree snapped in half. Luckily missed the fence and anything else on the way down, but there was some wind last night.

Edit: Also 12 degrees colder this morning than yesterday

Yeah crazy the drop in temp. 9 deg on the way to gym and work this morning.

We had power go off around 930pm and restored 2am. Very windy and lots of rain, no trees down at ours but saw a few around the streets. Not bad for the power of that wind!

We get some good storms every winter but I have to say that was a doozy.

I had broken branches peppering my windows for about 2 hours but hopefully no damage other than a clear up. Couldn't tell in dark.

Its recycling bin collection today so the streets were littered (groan) with upturned wheelie bins and their contents.

It was a beauty alright, far out. I'm in an apartment complex (city living!) so wasn't affected, but have friends who have lost the roof of their house etc. Pretty serious stuff.

Also got woken up at 2.30AM by some absolute nutter letting off fireworks outside our building in the middle of the storm - seriously WTF is wrong with some people?

one of my deck chairs was blown over, and a tree that had been loosened by other storms and I had staked with a steel post blew over....

Fuck this, I come home for 10 days and the whole fucking country decides it wants to emulate Palmerston North weather. Meanwhile I could have been chilling out in balmy 28 deg in Sydney.

Hopefully your insurance company will put their best men in this, spare no expense in restoring you life back to some kind of normality.

Oh yeah, it was nice in the Bay on the weekend (I wore a t shirt to the Canes match), and even Wellington was decent on Friday.

    Dropped off a cliff yesterday!
