Where does it say he posted "target acquired" BEFORE the attack? I haven't read that.
The other charge alleges an offence between March 8 and March 15, under the same Act, by making an objectionable publication showing a photograph of the mosque in Deans Avenue with the message "Target Acquired" and further chat messaging around inciting extreme violence.

The article says between the 8th and the 15th so might not be before but considering the limelight worth following up with.

@Donsteppa Thanks. That piece of info was not in the herald article I read.
I may be wrong about bail.
I'd like to see a link between he and the killer before I would think prison time is appropriate. Dumb 18 year olds make stupid posts for no real reason sometimes. Might be referring to something completely unrelated.

Looks like he's going to try and follow the lead of that Norwegian nutter. Should have a closed trial
Anybody that represents himself has an idiot for a client is the quote here I think.
-
Also pertinent:
Most details of bail hearings are suppressed under the Bail Act, though the outcome is allowed to be reported. Judge O'Driscoll made orders that banned publication of details from the police summary of facts and the document and submissions in which the police opposed the man's release on bail.
Usuall the claim is that judges are too soft on bail.

Makes no difference in this case. I think it is a good thing. Imagine being a QC and having to defend this fucker. Remember the crap that Ablett Kerr got after defending Clayton weatherstone (totally unfairly). Any QC on this case would likely get death threats and be reviled forever.

@Donsteppa eyes of the world looking our direction...

Here in Aust they just disclosed on the news why his Bail was refused and I can see why it was. There is more to the story than what is being reported in NZ.

Maximum sentence is life imprisonment for murder and the terrorist offences (having the bomb in his car probably counts as this) and 14 years for attempted murder. Normally life imprisonment would be with a minimum non-parole period, but there is also the option of life without parole - allowing this came in at the the same time as 3 strikes. Preventive Detention is used to protect the community when life imprisonment isn't available but someone needs to be locked up indefinitely e.g. kiddy fiddlers.
The nutter who killed the WINZ workers in Ashburton got life with a 27 year non-parole period. 50 murders, 50 attempted murders and some unknown number of terrorism and firearms offences seems like it would get much longer than that - if ever there was a case which got the maximum, this would be it. That said, it's probably moot as it seems very unlikely that he would ever actually get parole.
On a more personal note, preparations continue around my area for the upcoming funerals. Roads are closed, security plans are being made and everyone is on edge.

@MN5 What the fuck does her story have anything to do with the mosque killings? Fuck her and fuck the editor that green-lighted the story
I know right ? I hope she looks back on this in years to come and realises how much of a fuckstick she comes across as.
....I won't hold my breath though.

@Crazy-Horse I take it there is a good reason for not disclosing same on here? If so would you be able to PM me the details please? Understand if you think that's a no-no.

Obviously some legal reason why the NZ media can't disclose?

This article makes a salient point. Do black Christian lives matter less?
Obviously to New Zelaanders at the moment .. yes! But the world media? Supposedly liberal and hating of racism? What a fucked article.
Nice to use a tragedy to push their political POV. I’m pretty sure if it was a Christian Church that had been attacked in NZ it would have made the mainstream news. It’s more newsworthy in first world countries because it happened in a first world country. Just like 7/7 or any other Islamic attack in a Western country has had massive coverage.
Yeah, the Western media doesn’t report on mass killings in Africa and the Middle East because they are third world basket cases with little relevance to their readers. And mass killings happen there all the time so aren’t news.
I mean fuck, even Fox has had it front page every day and they’re not even fake news right?

The virtue signalling is getting on my tits.
Hit a new low this morning from somebody who, frankly speaking, I expected much better of. Based in Melbourne, went to some Mosque over the weekend to "support the community" and has taken a photo with her partner, both of them cuddling up pulling one of their "funny selfie" pictures.
Basically tourism.
