@mariner4life I think they could still have had the battle at night in a storm and made it a bit easier to see.
I was really surprised the NK died last night, but by the same token, at that point, you knew something MAJOR was about to happen otherwise they were all (more) fucked)
As it is, how many people do they have left, with an army of 10s of thousands crammed into Winterfell, it looked like pretty much everyone was dead bar a few hundy...how will the now march on Kinds Landing, just as Cercei so wisely decided to stay out of it.
i saw enough
Yea, i started looking at my watch when the NK bought all those guys back around Jon and thought "either something big happens in the next 10 minutes, or everyone is fuuuuuucked". Certainly didn't see Arya coming though.
Arya Stark is clutch as fuck.
-
@mariner4life I've always thought Arya was going to be a pivotal character, and despite prophecies thought she was more likely to kill Cersei than the NK, so assume Cersei will fall on someone elses 'sword'...
-
I’m sure it made no sense from a battle fighting POV but fuck that scene of the Dothraki storming off only to get obliterated was cinema gold.
It was a holy fuck we are totally fucked moment, did you see Jorah shake his head when he came back and rode past Thomo I think?
They spent 55 nights filming this episode and untold days and nights with interior shots. You can only imagine how fucked the crew and cast would have been by the end of it.
The average (non Marvel) movie would struggle to film on such epic proportions, let alone a single TV episode. -

Did anyone else get annoyed that annoying kid killed a fucken giant ?
I mean logically it's possible ( weak spot ) but I woulda loved it if the Hound did it instead, he was nearby.
you're a whinging fluffybunny with a hardon for bitter blokes. There is no joy in your heart
You’re saying this like it’s a bad thing

In regards to the darkness issues, did those experiencing problems watch it in high definition at night with their lights off?
I watched a good quality version and it was expectedly a little blotchy at points putting it on a large tv but there was no issue following what was going on. Really looking forward to seeing this episode on bluray, as @mariner4life alludes to this series and particular this episode is a wetdream for fantasy nerds. I think it went for 90 minutes so more than movie length and all action, outstanding stuff.

Yeah - that's why sport is so great. Defensive lineout with the World Cup on the line and Night King Matfield waiting - is Arya Whitelock going to come from nowhere or not?
Last night - everyone surrounded and about to die in the next 10 seconds - Night King marching towards the seemingly helpless Bran. The only way all the key characters don't die is if the Night King does. Though, I thought Bran's hidden powers were going to be revealed - Laser Kiwi or similar.
Night King fell for the oldest trick in the book - needed to follow Tuco's advice....
-
@mariner4life was a no brainer, we spent so much time watching her turn into this assassin ninja, she had to kill someone major...I just thought it'd be Cersei given what Arya had to witness at her hand...and could well stil be I guess.

@Catogrande dont think he wants to go there again...oh you mean kill her, possibly, so many candidates really
The prophecy says that Cersei will die at the hands of her brother so she thinks it's Tyrion....which means it will be Jamie. Or Ayra jumps out of left-field and goes up 2-0.
How about Ayra wearing Jamie's face? So the girl gets to kill the queen like she said she would.
I know nothing about the books and only got into GOT around the end of series three I think so maybe missing something here but isn't she waaaaaaaaay too short to pull that off, despite being able to wear the face?
-
@Hooroo when she was wearing the face of a serving girl in the Frey castle she was taller. But it hasn't been confirmed that wearing someones face gives her that persons build, or at least as far as we've seen. lol she'd make for a pretty small mountain.

It's magic, don't think so hard.

Gooood call!

@Machpants a secret tunnel out of Winterfell to the Woods, expect they woulda had one or two?
Bran needs to step his shit up, lamest character ever, just sits there without emotion or anything...or did he the 3 eyed raven tell him Arya was about to fuck shit up for the NK?
-
@Machpants said in GOT - there will be spoilers:
Where the fuck did she come from tho?She must got hold of the last few season's long range teleporting device and short ranged it! Then again she probably played there as a kid and knew all the sneaky ways.
Her stealth had been alluded to a few times in the lead up episodes, I'd be guessing it would be some sort of passage out to the godswood where she could climb a tree branch and hide herself up in the tree till the opportune moment.
-
Also, how fucking tense was that episode? Action aplenty, but there was times i was fucking stressed. The Library with Arya was awesome.
Then, as shit got worse and worse, i got more and more wound up. Jon's the hero, the hero needs to save everyone, but he's trapped because he needs to get past a goddam undead dragon! Fuck, just run fluffybunny! Come on!! the clock is ticking!
Fuck that was some good film making.

Man lots of people complaining about the lighting. I didn't have any issues at all? I always watch it in the dark though, must have been worse during the day.
Perhaps they should correctly adjust their TV...

I was literally shaking for the first part of the episode
Had no idea how it would play out, the timing and structure I thought were perfectly executed at the start.
Plus will we ever see dragons on tv or film in such a fucking way again? Seeing Drogon shaking off the wights as they climbed all over him.
The books will never be beaten for depth and story telling but you won’t outdo the visuals that the tv show has pulled off.
Never be a tv show like this again.. well hopefully the prequel series will live up to this
