<p>A guy I know lets his kids stay up till 9:30 or so, reckons they don't wake up so early . I'm not so sure about that but he's Chinese and says it's pretty common amongst their community .</p>

Youngest is staying with his grandparents in the rapa, oldest is with me as I 'work from home'. Got a weird text from my Mum this morning saying she missed me lots and lots and lots and that I was the best Dad in the world. Took a few moments to register that he'd taken her phone. Apparently the boys swimming instructor ( next to me in the contacts list ) got the same text which is gonna make things a bit awkward for her next time she sees him especially if he's in a state of undress. <br><br>
Most of you are like me, two kids seems the norm on here, I definitely recommend quality one on one time with your kids whenever possible. They make more of an effort and subsequently so do you. -
Hell yes on that last point. My youngest is often certifiable when with his brother. But when we have him alone he's a perfect little gentleman. An absolute joy in fact. It's a little odd.<br><br>
It's weird when the kids are away. Initially it's great, but I soon miss them like crazy. And then want them to leave again when they get back. -

<p>Yesterday sucked, first day back at work and dropped my boy back at his mums for the first time since the school holidays started. House feels empty, me and the mrs are missing him like mad.</p> -
<p>we will get them back on Friday, am sure despite the place not quite complete without them, within 5 minutes of returning we'll be wanting them to leave again! :good:</p>

<p>Kids had the grommets in yesterday fingers crossed its the end of the ear infections.</p>

<p>They are pretty tough here in France a masked Nurse just whips them away all confused looking and they came back from their general anesthetic balling. The big fellah freaked out at bed time saying he doesn't want to sleep in case he wakes with strangers again. So I slept the night on the floor of his room so that he would see I was there in the morning. </p>

<p>The alternative of letting him into our bed is never going to happen. Partially because I think its wrong and partially because he snores like a hippo and can't keep still even when asleep.</p> -
<p>hope they work out, our daughter has never had any issues with her ears, well aside fomr the usual bit about being broken and not working when you tell them to do shit, whereas my boy has had a lot of issues, he had loads of ear infections, he is a bit of a drama queen and often he'd play up to something, so we'd often brush it off, but less often with his ears. He had 2 sets of grommets in the end</p>

<p>My daughter used to snore like a train, and often had ear infections, had private health insurance so the doctor recommended getting adenoids and tonsils out and grommits in. Worked a treat, no more snoring, no more ear infections and a much happier kid due to better sleep without snoring.</p> -
<p>Thanks for the feedback, quiet night at chez moi last night so looks like the kids are mostly over the trauma.</p>

<p>Now give them the rest of the week to recover then back into the petri dish that is public schooling. Hopefully this is the end of it, I wouldn't fancy them going through it twice.</p>
