watched JOLT on amazon on the weekend
very much comic book action, Kate Beckinsale still looks good but think other actresses could have made this better.
2.5 electric shocks out of 5 evil bosses
Sheesh, are you trying to get shunned from the Fern? You can’t say anything even slightly negative about Beckinsale (or Elizabeth Hurley) …

lol, that is true but in context..she is still great to look at, but her acting (may have been bad before, but I didnt notice) seems to have got worse. I did mention that if she took her top off, score gets doubled but unfortunately she did not. But alas yes, there will be those that even think this is a lot of criticism..

@bayimports tbf when I saw the trailer and Kate in it, I knew it wasn't likely to be up for any acting or best film awards, she has never been a top actress, but then she is still better than others, has done well with the roles she has had (Selene being a big 'un)

Unfortunately - although the rating is that low - it looks like it's terrible because it's boring and unimaginative... rather than the twisted genius of Sharks of the Corn or The Velocipastor. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give it a miss.
I've just watched the trailer for Sharks of the Corn Sounds like my kind of film.

Red Sparrow (2018) with Jennifer Lawrence and luminaries like Charlotte Rampling & Jeremy Irons. Not a bad watch - intriguing plot but a bit predictable at times. Some pretty violent scenes.

I quite enjoyed it too. A number of relatively gentle twists IIRC

@mn5 little known whimpy lead, Jason Mamoa, visionary director....
The big give away is Jason Mamoa. He generally attaches himself to utter shit.
Not sure I base too much on that. He’ll just be part of the big ensemble, if his part is like the movie in the 80s he’ll barely be in it at all to be honest.

It was so bad. Watched the whole fucking thing.
Pete Davidson must be the most unfairly lucky bastard on the planet.

You did better than me. I baled after about 30 minutes. Not even Ms B in all her hotness could convince me to continue.

Just revisited super (2010). Takes a guy who is borderline nuff nuff, who becomes a superhero (with no powers) to save his wife. Awkward, dark and violent but some very funny moments. Rain Wilson was made for the character and Ellen ( now Elliot) Page also very funny.

I had struggled to find, ahem, a copy of this movie for years as I wanted to see it. Now I see it’s streaming on one of the platforms I have so definitely keen to finally watch it.
I think it’s directed by James Gunn?

Yes, he also acts in it, currently on Stan if you’re still looking
