I recall an insane guy who I want to say was dabeatdaddy posted every couple of minutes in practically every thread before imploding and presumably getting thrown off the board. It was like being hypnotised by a cobra that spat spam.

I think I was lurking then , his post rate was absolutely Poulsenesque .

Mojo also used to post. Has he been mentioned yet?

I caught up with him at a test match at the Basin Reserve.

We had some absolute class posters form the NH.
I rememeber meeitng Gailimh, Irish Richard , and PDP in a Irish bar in Dublin on the eve of the AB's playing a grand slam game in 2005, it is my Wifes 30th and we had a roaring night... my wife quickly got over the fact her long awaited 30th birthday evening in Dublin was crashed by a bunch of Irishman and a Frenchman that I had met online and had never seen before....
At about 11pm we got news that there had been a fire at Landsdown road and that one stand would be unavailable and tickets refunded. It was the stand the wife and I were going to. Gutted, as we were going to all 4 grand slam games, and would have been one short.
PdP stepped up and gave us one of his tickets, and I think Gailimh gave us another. Refused money, just took a guiness each.. actually I think Pdp took a whiskey..
Next afternoon we were on the terraces amongst a sea of Irish fans... BEST MATCH EVER.

    Thanks TSF.

and that's the day I met the famous @Baron-Silas-Greenback

He had some epic rants . NTA has been phoning it on for a while , we are overdue a decent rant from him .

    1. I'm now a lightweight who barely drinks at all.

    > 2) Mods keep deleting my epicness for reasons I'm yet to discover.

I was cleaning out a flash drive the other day and found a screen shot of an epic post of yours, I knew it would get deleted as soon as I saw it, I'd post it but it would just get deleted again.

I recall meeting @dingo at a pre-Xmas Ferners do in 2008. He had an interesting choice of shirt, if I remember correctly.

What was the year we had Xmas drinks? I'll always remember the year we met in the loo...

Is old mate @raznomore still around?

I love his work.....particularly in the boxing threads.

Don't call it a comeback! I've been here for years.

was it Willie the Weka that did an awesome peice about a night out with some AB greats (IIRC was even better than @jegga breakfast story, which is saying something)

Was it Willie that sat behind the cartel at a super rugby game and posted the reactions to certain players? I believe it may have been a Chiefs v Blues match and Kahui v Toeava in the centres.

I think it was Bart, but Willie was with him and got "wood" when he exchanged a few words with Ted.

That same year, I think? We met at Four Kings, possibly? Or maybe the Establishment. That was a lot of nights ago. I managed to fall asleep on the train out to Ava (Lower Hutt), and woke up 6 stops later at Pomare & alighted without my wallet. Not ideal...

I hate falling asleep on the train, I half drunkenly crashed out on the way home from a canes game and when we pulled into Paraparaumu the guard said โ€œ wake up mate , we just pulled into Napierโ€.

That's a good kip though mate!

I have done London Bridge out to Chislehurst and woke up at Seven Oaks and then fell back asleep all the way back to London Bridge on last train. Gutted

amateurs - when choosing where to live one important consideration should always be that it is the end of a railway line

I did wake up in a Parisian marshalling yard one night and got chased by security dogs as I tried to find my way out - but at least Paris was my destination.

Lots of great memories being dredged up here. I remember joining after Brendan Telfer gave the Fern a shout out on his RS show amongst a review of kiwi sports forums.

My first post was in appreciation of a Frank Bunce comment about England. @MvJ was witheringly contemptuous of my post ๐Ÿ™‚ Didn't he indirectly start the whole Fitness Forum when he decided to post about a New Years resolution to lose weight and started diarising his efforts?

I do remember a lot of the posters here seemed very young - students or on OE etc and now they're older than I was when I joined ๐Ÿคฃ

@jegga I could never fall asleep on a train, can barely sleep on long haul plane trips (do well if I get 2 hours on the 26 hour leg between London/Auckland)...I cant even fall asleep on the damn couch ๐Ÿ˜ž

Used to amuse me watching people sleep on the Underground though, how thier internal clock did it's job to wake them at the right stop.

I can only assume you don't drink...or enough!

The amount of times I found myself being woken up in Morden - South London was ridiculous. Nothing as comfy to sleep in as a warm underground train after 8 pints and a dodgy kebab.
