I think it reflects a pretty mediocre year overall for test cricket.

There are names there that I thought WTF but when you look at their figures it makes sense. Atkinson took 52 wickets at 22.15 in 9 matches. Henry 48 @ 18 Hazlewood 35 @ 13 but missed 40% of Aussies tests.

Ducket only averages 37 but what opener set the world alight last year. Not any Oz or Saffa.

Jadeja shades Lyon. Smith looks the tidiest keeper with a good batting record. Hazlewood is the only player that looks an obvious omission, but as I said maybe they figure he breaks too easily. Plus Aussie had a really soft programme. Pakistan Windies and India (minus Josh in the main) at home and two tests against us away.

Should be good. Southee retiring from test cricket after this series. I wonder if he got the nod, or if he just decided for himself. Looks covered in the other thread.

Random bit of trivia - kiwi umpire Steve Dunne was named to stand in two tests at his home ground, Carisbrook. Both were abandoned without a ball bowled (although the second was replaced with an unofficial one dayer).

For some reason, I feel like I came across that question before in quizzes haha.

Have searched my playlists for artists that meet the thread title and all I can come up with is a couple from a list where Paul Weller has provided songs (or collaborated with) other artists. He often hears a voice and thinks he has a song for it that he wont use himself. Neither of these are artists that I would listen to anything else of theirs.

Olly Murs - Let Me In
    Gabrielle - Why

Plenty of 'one song' artists but I wouldn't say I don't really like them. They just had one song that I do like listening to and a bunch I could take or leave.

Never thought I'd say this but really enjoy the Elton / Sheerhan song Merry Christmas.

Nice to hear something a bit more modern in amongst the Christmas monotony.

I’ve changed my mind, maybe “Fairytale of New York” isn’t that bad after all.

One of our biggest problems of late is that Kane hasn't played much test cricket, and our standards and consistency across the whole team notably dropped away, leading to that loss against the bloody Bangles at home.

Worst NZ TV I have ever seen was the last few minutes of the Covid fundraiser where they made a train and did the "Thank you very much" dance.
    So contrived, so awful.
But, luckily, I can't find it on YouTube,

    That sounds absolutely horrific.

Found it. Go to 7hours 58 minutes.

    Christ on a bike.

Cringeworthy doesn't even begin to cover it.

    It's got it all.

True that - an outlier's outlier.

    It’s definitely making sure I don’t miss a garage workout that’s for sure !

    Inspirational stuff.

All very impressive and I do get your point. I suppose a big contrast to that is the other three guys in AC/DC who aren’t Angus and Brian. They have a cushy gig that anyone vaguely competent could manage.

Angus would say that Malcolm was the most important member of the band.

Fair call I will stand corrected on that from a writing point of view and what the brothers did behind the scenes setting the band up. He wrote some pretty cool riffs for someone who appeared to know only three chords as well !

I fucken love AC/DC but Rudd looks half asleep during their live gigs, at least Williams tries to make his bass lines appear more complicated than they are.

@crucial said in Best Live Albums:

@godder to start off with their biggest song was a masterstroke. Gave the audience no chance but to get into it and had them eating out of Freddie's hand for the rest of the set.

Great live band and showmanship but fuck they had some trite songs.

I agree and it's not surprising, Freddie was the most prolific of them and his theory on songs was that they were essentially disposable - to be listened to and enjoyed a few times and then basically discarded. Some songs like Bohemian Rhapsody got an enormous amount of work and time spent on them, others nothing like as much.

Bass heaven, the groove in this tune is ridiculously good

Sounds a bit like humans trying to play like computers to me. Rare moments of actual groove.
Well played though and they look like they all enjoyed a sniffing craft beer afterwards 😉

I’m sorry you feel that way. Perhaps you need to try the live version ?

The crowd are actually singing that bass line, how good ?

Reckon I've listened to this 100x since you posted. Just gets cooler every time.

If you guys would condescend and actually come and visit us for a test series that might look a little different. Last time was 2015?

You are also using @ACT-Crusader 's selection policy. Nice that the world number one batsman snuck in though.

It’s a tried and true policy.

There’s a lot to be said about this, stonewashed jeans….smoking looking cool…..mullets on players and fans alike……one of my favourite cricketers smacking a beautiful old school six..….( using old bats so much harder in those days )….

But the thing that gets me most is what the hell is holding that chicks bikini top in place at the start cos it certainly isn’t any tits that’s for sure.
