Looking for video of Harris' head-high tackle/throw at ~65minutes. Can anyone point me to a vid?

Not that I'm saying our players SHOULD un-necessarily pick up opposition players by the head and throw them around like rag dolls. Just I'd like to see it again.

I hope they get smashed in Argentina for being too cocky at this stage of the season.

I do think it's got anything to do with being "cocky".

Managing player welfare is extremely important and it would be hubris to not take these precautions when it's available to them.

I very much doubt that the Lions are looking beyond week one of the finals and doing their best to prepare for that game. This is a franchise that hasn't played finals since the Laurie Mains days....

There was plenty of talk about them taking it out in their first season. Or at least people putting money on them because of the good odds. Whether that means they actually thought they were a chance or were just worth a punt i don't know. They should definitely have been better than the handful of wins they have being largely international players.

Macalai was useless and I had big worries about his selection pre-game. FABJM has been good this season by comparison. I'd even play Havili on the wing ahead of Jone.

Faddes has done a lot of good things this season and scored a number of tries but his poor handling and tackling - 22 turnovers conceded and 18 missed tackles with a success rate of just 67.9% - let him down.

But fuck, that had to try hard to force that penalty. If it takes 5 or 6 or 10 seconds to finally break the front for they deserve a medal, for not cheating, not a penalty.

The rules are fucked.

cheers for that. I'm actually pretty confused now about "frontal contact" because you see that every week. Did they deem he wasn't going for the ball in that?

Genuinely don't know hence why I said earlier that perhaps it's different if you come down with the ball. AFL rules generally confuse the shit out of me anyway.

Not sure how Crottys high shot could be considered close to a red. It was a penalty in regular play and nothing more. Just because the Ref missed it doesn't mean it was 10 times worse.

I doubt the ref missed it. It was replayed about 100 times on the screen provoking a loud response from the crowd. He just didn't consider it serious enough for a card. IMO the right decision.

But TBH, I'm not bothered how these guys kick in thier Super colours, everyone seems to step it up a notch in black, kicking % will be no different

Actually, I think it is.

Intentional knock or throw forward. A player must not intentionally knock the ball forward with hand or arm, nor throw forward.

I think you have to read this text carefully and note that "Knock on" is the official term and is used differently to "knock forward". I don't think you're allowed to intentionally bat the ball forward and recover it. O-fucking-tago scored a try in an ITM Cup semi doing exactly this and eliminated Ta$man (not that I'm bitter).

Yeah that's the bit which stops you repeatedly tapping the ball over defenders and eventually catching it when clear. A bit like we tap balloons over kids to tease them

Pretty easy to spot and certainly not something commonly used

Our prop play has improved a lot this season. We've really come a long way in the scrum department compared to last year. We can hang with every scrum in the comp, except a few.

He simply needs to bulk up. I believe he's not far north of 100kg, and given how tall he is, you get a sense for much bulk he can add to his frame. Give him a couple of years then he will really be in the ABs sights.
