Best white bluesman who ever lived ( and I mean white ) with honourable mentions to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Gibbons and Alvin Lee.

Gravelly voice perfectly suited to the music, best slide guitarist ever. It is seriously hard to make that style of guitar sound good and he nailed it every time.

Certainly not a household name but he should have been

Why the fuck is this super yacht incident such big news (at least in the UK)? I don't get it.

Mike Lynch - tech billionaire - owned it and he and his family died in it.

Became a bit of a poster-boy after being acquitted in US courts for allegedly defrauding HP when they bought his company

Thanks. I still think it's utterly bizarre how much airtime and detail and "specialists" it's getting on telly.

Wasn't that about a year ago? So yeah - odd that it's rearing its head again.
Quick google search - suggests UK investigation finally complete... "it was windy" ? That's 9 months of work.
Talking with a UK-based colleague back when it happened - I got the impression there was suspicions of a conspiracy theory - but never outright said so in media, which seems strangely refrained from UK media.

Thanks. I think it might have come out on BR a few years back - this looks to have additional stuff.

Kennedy-Martin written, Hard to go wrong. Cracking theme by Clapton as well.

Classic Stuff, and appropriate for the thread title. Behind a paywall (or at least a 'register' wall).

Also, they strongly argued this was an 'advertisement' not an article, so the BSA shouldn't have jurisdiction.

Well, just to fuck life up when things seemed to be getting on track after the recent episode:

Boxing Day 2023 I woke up with a bit of vision loss in my left eye. Hospital is always fun that time of year (not) and after spending most of the next day there and running all sorts of tests, they decided to pump me with steroids and sent me off to see a Neuro-Opthamologist.

The diagnosis was optic neuritis. But they wanted to know what was causing it.

And today - after over a year of mostly waiting between tests - the same specialist reckons the diagnosis is Multiple Sclerosis.

Now for another MRI to see if it has advanced, so we can look at treatment options from there.

Given the extended and repeated kicks in the balls our family has received over the past 8 years, I fully expect to win the lottery any minute now.

On the plus side, the doc said it was caught very early and treatments were becoming more and more effective. We're a long way from people being wheelchair-bound by the time they're 50 (I'm turning 49 in June).

He's talking 10-20 years before any impacts to lifestyle at the moment, but needs the next round of tests before being sure.

I've got 5 caps to get for the rugby club to get above two other blokes (absolute peanuts) who don't deserve to be there TBH, and then refereeing. A trip to Europe and other shit once my daughter finishes school this year.

Get busy livin', or get busy dyin'

Nick, just read this. Keep on keeping on, lots to live for mate. Cliche I know but wordiness is not my strong suit. All the very best. You’re a good person.

I think this is the correct thread. Does Andor (season one) get more interesting? I'm one and a half episodes in and starting to think every Star Wars movie/ tv series is just for kids (Mandalorian being the exception).

Andor is the best SW r ever, imo. Def not for kids, a slow burn with tension and some great acting. Less action, more story, character growth and plot

Andor season one was better when I watched it second time round and picked up on things more.

Even though we know what ultimately happens the stakes are still really high, we're invested in the characters etc.

Haven't watched season 2 as yet, waiting to binge it but have picked up the odd spoiler here and there. Sounds like it is doing a great job in establishing the Empire as a fascist regime that needs to be overthrown. Interested in how they use a few characters I've seen in the shorts that were first introduced to us in Rogue One. I'm also keen to see if there are any Vader/Tarkin/Emperor cameos. That might be pretty cool.
