@Stargazer Actually, I was thinking to perhaps replace Pulu with Buckman - although I like Buckman more in the midfield.

I haven't necessarily picked my favourites - but, more leaned towards how I think Hansen etc see things. So those like e.g. Hames and Manu who've been previously been picked for the ABs have stayed there at the expense of people like Goodes - though, in all honesty, I've never really noticed Goodes dominating scrums (which I've certainly seen from Hames and Manu) or being a huge force around the field.

I'm not keen on Tevita Li, but I was mainly struggling to think of other credible left wings. Does Duffie play on the left? Aso? Pretty sure Cory Jane is a right wing.

Not Ben Lam for me Chester. 🙂

Timani gets 4 weeks. Should have received 6 minimum IMHO, no plea bargain.

Additionally he attacked someone's eyes and should have probably been done for that as well.

This reminds me of the notorious Black Dragon for some reason.

@SammyC I agree that tight five have been a letdown this season, but that shouldn't take away from his individual form. After all, the tight five is made up of many players, not just him.

Taranaki Rugby is to establish the country’s first dedicated sevens academy as it looks to strengthen the game in the region and New Zealand.

@Stargazer Defence optional. Force made it a game immediately after oranges. Kings choked after finding themselves in a position to win.

    @canefan

Bigger damage will be the losing the very well paid 6 Nations coments gig... there's no shortage of people who don't have that coke-y smell who can step into that. He could have done some great (paid) work during the Lions your, ideal guy for that too. Till now.

@Milk , @Stargazer Yeah the fine seems excessive but put in context perhaps not quite so bad. For a start 50% of that fine is suspended. Maestri not only criticised the official (let's get over the fact it was Barnes) but also made blatantly racist comments.

Compare this to Marler's comments to Samson Lee (in the heat of the match) where he called him Gypsy Boy (factually correct, albeit inflammatory). Marler got a £20K fine (around NZ$35K and a two match ban.

IMO both are excessive but in context Maestri got away with it a bit.

Oh and I'm sure that all the Taffs on here will be delighted to hear they are part of the great Anglo Saxon conspiracy.

@Bovidae said in 1993 Lions tour:

@dogmeat It certainly wasn't a great AB side during that series and Vodanovich has the worst winning % of any AB coach. Despite all that they still outscored the Lions 8 tries to 6 across the 4 tests. If only McCormick and Mains had kicked better.

With 5 in one test. So the Lions outscored NZ 4-3 across three tests. So in the winning of the series it is not quite so ludicrous to suggest that try scoring was an important factor. But I concede that goal kicking was the ultimate deciding factor - as it is in most close games/series.

@Stargazer Jaguares play in B.A. usually so it's just an 11 hour flight from Auckland to the game.

Take what you can get these days in Aussie rugby. Hearing reports that over the last decade, participation is down 60%.

Anyway it was a good game tonight, with NSW getting up over the Rebels in the last five minutes

I see Phil Kite had been training with the Reds in pre-season and now called in to replace an injured James Slipper.
