I've now watched the last round, and i reckon it was way better than some of you are giving it credit for.

At different points of that back 9 a number of very good players were having a run at Tiger. Johnson was coming until he faltered. Fowler went on a run but missed a putt by a mm. Finau played great but was too far back. Koepka was right there but just could not make the step up. But Tiger was just never coming back to them. He hit great shot after great shot. Hit his putts. He really played fucking good golf to win that.

I totally agree. There were about half a dozen players legitimately in the mix to win right up until the last couple of holes. Just because it wasn't an all out birdie fest didn't make it any less compelling. When Tiger embraced his son I suddenly noticed how dusty the lounge was. Must leave a strongly worded note for the cleaner....

@Duluth so the Crusaders should make it then

Blues could win all bat a couple of their remaining games but just as easily could lose all bar a couple. Which is vast improvement on last year. I think they've actually got a slightly easier run in than the Chiefs apart from the significant difference of the Canes Home and Away.

I think the Canes are a better match-up for the Blues than the Chiefs. Blues have a chance to dominate the Canes at set pieces.

Def. McCaw in 2011 and, being an old bugger, BeeGee Williams in 1970 was the equal of Jonah in 1995. Jeff Wilson was pretty special in most years he played in as well

It's hard to leave out players like Michael Jones, Bruce Robinson, Steve McDowell and Colin Meads who were consistently better than any other player year on year

    Or both

That Kevin Na vid is cool. Dude is a ball of energy lol.

Golf seems to have endless rules and protocols, but in this case it seems Garcia made a mistake. Even if Kuchar is a bit of a tool.

They just had a bit of a clean up of the rules recently to make it a little more simple and to speed up the game. But you are right as there are a squillion little rules to be aware of

@nzzp Great time to be a blues fan...😀

First time I've seen that on the fern for years! Without a sarcastic tone that is.

Good on ya, it's a nice feeling when the rain finally stops🙂

Actually, we're seeing the team on an upswing. Still a long way to go, but we're on our way, and I feel far more optimistic than I have for years. The board, the coach and the playing group are starting to deliver. Good to see. Arguing about how good a rookie will be is a discussion we haven't had a lot of over the last few years.

Yeah because no one has ever heard of Gibson, Papalii, hell Perofeta was even dubbed Perofuture.

Perofuture is his nickname from the players and refers to the Blues not the All Blacks.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say?

I figured you were talking about hype from posters here about the players.

RIP Ron Elvidge, a great All Black, short playing career but managed to captain the side for 7 of his 19 appearances which says something. Would have had plenty of great stories to tell about rugby in his era I would imagine. Coming back on the field with a collar bone injury and cut face to score a winning try would rank right up there with some of the best

good, been resting on his laurels, what's he done for us lately?

Apart from the runs, the leadership, the holding together of our batting order in tough conditions, and the occasional spin bowling, what's Williamson ever done for us!

Hes been pretty handy in the gully.

He's made a great contribution to non-manicured beards.

Big pressure on Will Young - weak opposition so everyone expects him to hit a 100 and this could be the only chance he gets for a while.

Maybe this test won't go ahead after the Mosque shooting?

Didn't find out about this until I saw this post and thought "a mosque shooting in Bangladesh?" I found out 9/11 on a Notts County forum in the morning following the action of cup game we were playing. There was a guy posting from New York and somehow said "so glad you're OK". Probably says a lot about me and my priorities of staying updated with events ....

    Genuine question:

where do you live and how did you avoid it?

Tauranga and I was head down at work .... didn't mean I didn't know until the moment I just posted! It was a couple of hours after it was news. Shows that everyone else at work was head down as well ....

You're a true asset to your company! 🙂

I don't think anyone really cares that the winless streak has a draw in the middle

Agreed. A draw after a run of losses is almost rubbing salt into the wounds.

In the reverse though I would say undefeated and x-wins-on-the-trot are virtually the same regardless of the odd draw in there (see the AB's 43 match undefeated streak at Eden Park - most would not consider that being "broken" by the Lions draw).

boy oh boy, can't wait to watch a replay of the Calcutta Cup match. I reckon the Scots could even snatch a draw if they tire out the English forwards and Russell has an absolute blunder.

Yup a draw was snatched because of Russell's blunder on defence in front of the posts after the hooter...

yea, once Jonah and Joeli were gone, the Blues threw Counties away like an old drop sheet.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

I believe the Counties/North Harbour Blues change happened between the 1998 season and 1999 season (Blues played a home game vs the Reds in 1999 at North Harbour that resulted in a 12 all draw. It was an awful game that summed up the Jed Rowlands 1999 season).

Jonah played for the Chiefs in 99 when Counties were aligned to the Chiefs. Joeli continued to play for the Blues in 99, 00 and 01.

pffft your "facts" and "dates" are no match for my narrative

just call it your 'lived experience' and you're sweet as bro, postmodernism to the rescue and anyone who corrects you is an oppressor.
